Planetaries, no wonder it's powered by Detroit 2 stroke, does the motor run the pump also or is that divorced. Bet it has an Allison auto.Nice piece what does it do aircraft.

spsauerland and Diesel Dave Thank this.

As all other electronic engines you need to be able to talk to the electronic side. Does it have any flashing lights on the dash? Is there a button on the cluster you can push. Scroll through and find faults? Use the cruise switches to read flash codes?
It should work the same as S60 Detroits and others know much more about that than I. Some motor coaches have awesome screens that read almost everything. Is there anyway you can contact Oshkosh for information?
If you read flash codes and you cannot figure it out someone with a DDEC software and a laptop is needed.
Just my opinion and best of luck with that. -

I know others are in disbelieve of DDEC 8V-92's. Google Prevost and or Newell motor coach 8V-92. Both of them used these engines for several years.
dimis8913: Search this forum ( block on top right ) for reading Detroit Series 60 flash codes. It works the same way if you can figure out how to ask.
If you can find a truck shop with a Pro Link or OTC scanner they may be able to read codes for you and more.pushbroom and spsauerland Thank this. -
Do you know what i need for equipment for read the faults and clear the faults? or do you know any shop which help me? -
Lets start here: If you have DDEC 8V92. I thank it will not preform because the computer has it derated due to a fault code. If you can figure out how to read flash codes on your machine it may tell what the problem area is. Like barometric or turbo pressure out of range. Then you can look at how to correct that by replacing a sensor or repairing wiring type thing.
The next step is a scanner. It will plug into the diagnostic connector like this one.
Connectors at the top are 6 and 9 pin Deutsch plugs. If you have an early model it could have a connector like thisLooks kind of like an OBD II but it is not. That connector would probably be hard to find and require installing one of the other connectors on the vehicle.
There are others that will do the job and I thank this ones was sold with different name brands. You can buy them on E bay.
The white card is heavy duty diesel and it will read codes on most engines.
The blue card is Detroit Diesel DDEC 3&4. There is another one for 1&2. A third one for five. With those cards injector tests and a lot more can be done. That is old technology like your engine.
Then skip any of that in between stuff and go to the Nexiq IQ with a laptop. That is just to the best of my understanding and knowledge.
If you are buying equipment is there anything that will do this and other equipment you have? I would sell this one but i am a long way from Greece.
I tried to get there once on my eurail pass . We got on the wrong train and went to Hungary. A nice government travel agent came and sat with us. Then escorted us to the first train in the other direction. Stayed with us and made sure we got off at the correct place. Then we laid around on the role carts in Italy all day. Thought the trains must be on strike but later were told that is business as usual. Had to skip the train fairy ride to Greece and get back to work in Germany. Oh: I mean I do not know of any shops in your area.SAR, spsauerland and Dino soar Thank this. -
I know that the last two strokes they did make some of them with the ddec electronics.
I am pretty much anti electronic engine, but I think that would be cool to have one of them.
I wonder how the power and the fuel mileage was on the electronic versionsIntothesunset Thanks this. -
Power? Eh... I cannot tell you that.
Here in America our Fire Trucks enjoy a great deal of power and torque by design grotesque amounts electronically tuned up higher than most ordinary tractor trailers.
I prefer the old iron mechanical engines because what you get on them is what you get. And sometimes in bad situations you can get on down the road with them, without a computer shutting you down.Intothesunset, BoxCarKidd and Dino soar Thank this.
