    I agree with that!

    I just like things unusual and different. As much as I dislike Electronics I think that would be crazy cool to have an electronic 8v92.

    I would be really impressed if you could get like 6 miles to the gallon. I always liked the two strokes.

    Up to 500 HP factory. Anybody that can afford a top end Newel probably did not worry about MPG.
    8V92 TTA ( 3 ) 665 HP & 1876 Ft Lb torque. 8V92 ATA DDEC boat motor was 760 HP. Wonder if we could keep it cool in a truck?

    Intothesunset, SAR and spsauerland Thank this.

    @BoxCarKidd

    Was the 665 horsepower a truck engine?

    I never saw a DDEC 92 in a truck just motor coaches. I do not know a whole lot about them. Never got deeper than an injector. Ran across that stuff on line. Ever heard an 8V with Jakes? Those were unusual and different.

    Thank you my friend for your help. If i understand, the best diagnostic is the nexiq iq and "read" all engines of detroit.

    I hoped someone more experienced would chime in. The best I have any experience with on a DDEC 60 is the Nexiq USB link with a laptop. The market is full of all kinds of different stuff, Chinese clones, diesel laptops.etc.
    I cannot recommend anything. If that engine is all I was worried about I would probably buy a used unit like my previous picture. You can probably buy one of those and the correct card for about $750 US. If you work on some newer equipment spending more money on a different unit maybe well spent. Look out for added costs for different applications and required subscriptions.
    Anyone else heard of electronic equipment from Russia.
    That's all I have and know. Good luck and let us know how that works out. Some others know much more than I and may help if you ask specific questions.

    I don't know much about the computerized versions, but if it's really bad maybe you could just make it back into a mechanical engine. Those engines are legendary for reliability.

    I'm sure someone would purchase the electronics from you.

    If you weren't so far away I would just about consider it. An electronic Detroit 2 stroke really piques my curiosity.

    Reliability. HA. I tell you what, Ive tried to club these engines with some big heavy stuff in my time. Aint had one burn up yet with one exception if that pyrometer was accurate. It's amazing those little engines got away with such big pulls.

    I wonder if you could put later Electronics on it, like a ddec 3 or 4.

    I believe it was ddec 3, or 4. On the electronic 8v92, and 12v92.
