Hi all, I have a 14L series60 NON EGR. I had 32psi of boost but now boost quickly builds to 11psi and will not go any higher. I have checked CAC and all plumbing and turbo actuator, all are good. My guess is that the turbo boost sensor has failed? No extra smoke but low on power. My question is will a failed boost sensor cause the symptoms I have ?

Yes i think so I have seen the same thing when guy's would put resistors on the boost sensor and the connection corroded. Clean the connection and truck is back to normal. So in your case i would check the connection and the ecm grounds and if you can plug in and look at the output reading of the boost sensor and see if it looks normal or not. Your on the rite track let us know what you find.
AUSSIE DAVE Thanks this. -
Hey Aussie Dave.
when u check the cac, Disconect it right off the hot side of the turbo and don't cap off the cold side. This will check the intake manifold gask. and the air compressor intake hose.
You can also use a prolink while , Let's say adding 20psi to the tester and monitor your turbo boost sensor to see if the boost sensor is reading properly.
Good luckDDS3 and AUSSIE DAVE Thank this. -
I had a similar problem and it ended up being the exhaust side blades had shattered from a piece of the turbo casting while the other side looked just fine. Do you get more boost at higher rpm's, if so this could be your problem. I'd think you could hear a bad air compressor hose, at least I can anyway.

Spray all your fittings with a soap and idle the truck up to 1000.
Found lots of leaks that way. -

I'd still suggest it -
I removed the boost sensor and gave it a clean with air, reinstalled and now get a extra 4psi of boost.

Looks like your on the rite track!!!!!
