I'm totally clueless what VPOD and VGT are. Guess i've never had a problem with it but I'll research that and find out more about it. Also thanks alot BoxCarKidd, you've helped me out a lot of times on here.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

That's a good idea. My dad has a gauge I can borrow.

So VPOD is a variable pressure output device.
VGT is a variable geometry Turbo.
The ECM ( engine control module ) receives input from various sensors on the engine and turbo.
The ECM then evaluates the various sensor inputs and then sends an output signal to the vpod.
The vpod then takes this signal and turns it in to a measured air pressure signal.
The air pressure is then sent thru an air line to the turbo actuator which in turn opens and closes the vanes inside the turbo to a specific setting programmed in the ECM.

Do you have the signature14.0 liter VGT turbo hissing noise at idle?
It should have this if it is working correctly.

Ok I know what you mean now. My turbo has apparently been changed because the vanes do not move in mine. I wondered what that noise was on other trucks like mine and they were supposedly deleted too. You taught me something new lol. Thanks.
