Device to turn laptop into GPS?

He means short-cut keys. Using the keys on your keyboard in combination. For example CTL (Control Key) + A = GPS Task Pane. MS Streets & Trips has a lot of short-cut keys to use instead of clicking on a menu then clicking on a selection from there.

Zooming-In or out is just that, zooming in on the map. From MS Streets & Trips Help:

 

Sorry, missed you question. It is what Eaton18 have said. Plus, If your laptop has Fn keys for dislpay control, you can dim, black out or make brighter the display in one stroke, which I found very useful.

 

our old'heads will tell you that you dont need no stinking GPS, their Rand McNally tells them exactly where they need to go

 

my rand mcnally can tell me where to go. but i have to be stopped and reading the map. and it also has no clue how to guide me once i get to town.

 

google earth has helped more then anything else to get that idea of what a new reciever looks like b4 i deliver at 2 am

 

Snowwy thats why I have a GPS. I can get from one city to another but when it comes to getting around that are a map cant do it anymore.
