just to shed some light on the dexterity test i took today (not sure if each test is the same).
The point of the test is to make sure that you don’t have a heart failure while doing usual work duties.
They make you step up and down on one step for one minute. They play a ticking beep that you have to keep up with. After a minute, they let you rest for three minutes then check your heart rate. For the most part my resting heart rate was between 125 and 131
Then they make you carry a bucket weighing 40 lbs for about 20 feet and then walk it back. Then they add 20lbd and will make you do the same.
Then you’ll pick up 40lbs in a milk crate from the floor to your waist three times. Then from a table lift it up to your shoulder height. First with 40 lbs then both exercises with 60 lbs.
The next two exercises will involve you pulling and pushing a minimum of 100 lbs. don’t let that scare you, it’s not actual weight. It’s a pressure machine. They’ll measure your resting heart rate making sure it doesn’t go above a certain beats per minute.
Then you’ll have to step up and down a latter three times from the second rung of the ladder. Then they’ll make you crouch under the ladder for 40 seconds, two times. To assure that you can get under a truck for pretrip.
The last exercise was the toughest for me. You’ll have to walk on a beam or 4x4 lumber and balance yourself. Front to back, side to side walk. And the hardest part for me; walking backwards. You have three chances to go. After three failed attempts it’s an automatic fail.
Lucky for me i past everything. Hope this can help a few of you guys. It’s a piece of cake. I’m 5’10 and 334lbs. If i passed then I’m sure you can too. Good luck guys
