Every now and then I get a PM from a member who's read this and wonders if I'm still with Swift and how I'm doing. So I'll update. Yes, I still drive for Swift (just had my 4yr anniversary) and I'm still getting good miles. I got rid of the Prostar that was giving me so many problems. Some other driver's got it to deal with now.

    nckid and Hamshoe Thank this.

What did you replace it with?

I know this is a bit out of order and the quote is from months ago, but a good trick is to keep a spray bottle with water and three to six drops of dawn dish detergent (depending on size). Spray it along your airlines, concentrate on couplings and areas that have rubbed. If there is a leak you'll see bubbles. Works for slow leaks on tires as well. This way you can point right at the problem area. Save them the brain strain. Also, if you find a junction that leaks, sometimes a turn of a wrench or in the case of quick disconnects (not sure if there are any out there) sometimes you can turn them a half turn or so and reseat the o-ring.

    Just my two cents...

Well, this will be my last night in a Swift truck. It's been quite a ride, all the ups and downs that I would have had with any company, especially thru my early years as a trucker. But I made the decision to move on and leave Swift. They are on a path that doesn't suit me, so it's time to part ways. With any luck, I'll find a company more in tune with my work style.

I'm not down on Swift. I still think they are a fine company to work for, especially for students and newbies. I came here with 7 months experience- still quite green. They did the job of polishing me up and helping me shine.

OK, that sounds really corny, but you get my point. I am grateful for the opportunity I was given here. I do feel, however, it's time to go.

So I close this diary (after bringing it back to life for one last post.)

Thanks for your input, 1nonly. You've been helpful. Perhaps you will start another "diary" on another TTR company's forum.

Perhaps I will. Though there are already many on the company I hope to be working for next week.

i take it because no matter how many years you have, you'll still treated like you have 1 week of experience, even at the truck stops, it can drain you
