Im sure your miles will improve after you show your DM how you run. Then again, they may not. After mine left the company, I was put on another guys board. After 3 crappy weeks, I phoned Jon U. and said I want a new DM. My new DM has been running me pretty good, but could be better. We drivers aint never satisfied are we? :biggrin_25523:
Take it easy and good luck with GTS.

btw, you didnt pickup at Heinz in Holland,MI last week did ya? If so, that punk you talked to was me. :p

welcome to the party. the miles have been hit or miss but i'm not complaining yet.....
also best place to get a free wifi signal is mcdonalds or burger king other that the unless you have a wifi card with 1 of the major cell phone companies you might be able to use the truck stop wifi signal (you pay for the service $5 for a day or $20 for a month) but they only seem to work best if you get a spot close to the main building and there also hit or miss depending on if trucks are moving around you.

wish this thread was more active but it's not. maybe i should put up a flyer in the g rapids term and tell other drivers we' re here.

I appreciate your info, Wingman, and I hope we'll hear more from you as your time with Gainey go on. I have an application from LTC which is supposed to be part of Gainey but I'm holding of contacting them until I hear something from a local job here in NC. I'm only waiting 'till the end of this week, though. Need to know more about LTC if anyone can help. But I'm also interested in what I've heard about Gainey so far. Anything would be an improvement over the 1400 miles per week I was getting with KLLM.

it's a ok/good company frieght seems to have found it's way over to gts because i seem to always get a preplan. only downside so far were still waiting on the new trucks, but there is strong rumors that they have them just haven't put them out yet. dm's never bother you and there pretty good about hometime. if i had to give this company a grade i would say they were a c+ and a b+ if we had the new trucks.

come on over you'll like it. not as much pressure as the super carriers.

O ok thanks for that info I decided to go with them. They seem like a ok company and I know it possibly be worse then Werner. I start orinatation on may 10th and then after 4 days. They will assign me my own truck. I'm just nervous because I have to take a road test.

Badman, can you tell me anything about LTC? Supposed to be a derivative of Gainey. And what are your average miles per week with Gainey? Or anything else about these two companies. Thanks.

only thing i can tell you about lct is that yes they are a sister company of gts and that lct is a refrigerated hauler. i don't know anything about them really. i thought they shut down lct until last week when i was at the bordentown, nj drop lot and seen 2 of the trucks pull in.

to the ladydriver thats coming to gts orientation on may 10th. which terminal are you coming to? grand rapids, mi dallas, tx or atlanta, ga if you come to michigan the guy in grand rapids, mi takes you on a 30min roadtest, he's cool real cool but he will be watching you as you make turns and he wants see you use the clutch no floating gears. but again he's a cool guy but a stickler for the rules.

I'll be going to the grand rapids mi terminal. Hopefully I'll do fine on the road test I haven't drove since December but I should be fine. My teacher from the trucking school I went to referred me there and he had nothing but nice things to say about the compnay.
