Are you at the hook? Dennys took over the restraunt but they still have chicken wings! mmmmmmmmm
I had a 2000 mile week that woulda been better but they pulled me off a nice run to Cinci(from Little Rock) to drag a hazmat load(which I waited nearly a day for) to UPS in San Antonio where Ive been sitting since mid day Friday. They really put the screws to me this time!

-
Nope, they dont require it. Pay is $25 extra for pulling a Hazmat load, no boost in cpm pay.
Yeah, I got screwed no doubt about it. Houston, we will have a problem next time it happens. -
sitting here in n. carolina on the state line with Virginia at the new loves. still got that new building smell. hope they enjoy it, want be long b4 the smelling drivers come in and leave there stench behind.
today was interesting. i seen a swift driver lose his mind and destroyed one of swift new international trucks, he was screaming about he was getting ripped off and he pulled out a knife and slashed all the tires, he took he baseball shape tire thumper to all the windows and mirrors. it took 3 of us to keep him for trying set the truck on fire. he finally climb in the truck and gather his stuff and later a cab picked him up and he was gone. if your in pa on i-81 ext 104 it's a small little truck stop if it hasn't been hauled away there's a completely smashed swift truck. as far as gts news from me i finally told my dm it's time to up my miles per week or i gotta quit. he responded with a 1200mile trip to mobile, AL plus what i just finished i already have 700miles in and today is only Monday. will try to post again tomorrow night when i get stopped if i have a strong wifi signal. cya -
... what no pics!?
That said we as a team ran 1100 miles in 4 days. Miles are slow for everyone right now. You should be careful with that or I quit bluff right now its not an easy climate to find jobs especially for truckers. Company's are willing to let drvs go now because they aren't getting enough loads and they do take note of those who threaten to quit as they are some of the first to get chopped. Its not like 2 years ago where you could walk out and have a job the following week. It took me 12 months almost to find a job. It took my 11 yr exp hubby with no ticks or accidents 3 months.
Don't believe me? Ask on general trucker forum. Or the cb. Or the drvs lounge.
As for hazmat our disp. Said if we get it he can stick us on ups dedicated. I'm considering it as its guarenteed 4k easy miles a week. -
..wow, a new ProStar got axed eh.. well if this story is true that guy can forget about driving for anyone else in the near or distant future & he may be looking at jail time too; i doubt SWIFT will let this guy walk without any compensation for the damage he caused & if he can't pay he will do time.. they will have to use this guy as an example to other drivers who might be having the same thoughts about getting even as this guy had..

Ohh, is that the new one at Fancy Gap? Exit 4 or 2, IIRC. Hope to get in there before other drivers blister the toilet seats. Very strange to open up a new one there, but close another one(Gulfport, MS Loves is boarded up). Maybe its been closed for a while now. I dont know, Im still using a truck stop booklet from 2007. Guess I gotta break down and get a new one, eh?
Dang, I need your DM. My old one left the company(good guy-had since 8/08 and only had a few problems) and I got put on with another guy...and miles have slumped. I heard Rick R. is a good one.
IROC, that sounds like a sweet deal. UPS loads always have great time on them and Im sure the 4K weekly will be easy to obtain. -
i know the pain of trying to find a driving job. i decided in oct 09 i want to come back out on the road. took until jan 2010 after months of not hiring in michigan or you been off the road to long. when gainey finally call me up and said come on in...so yeah i know the pain. and my dm is cool (tony something) i told him that in a joking fashion on the phone. he knew i was serious but also kidding i actually like it here at gts (formerly known as gainey if you didn't know).

so i'm sitting here in hope hull, al nothing exciting to report. i did 500miles today in what seem like only 5 or 6 hours even tho i know now it has been over 9hrs since i started driving this morning, the day just went by quick i guess listening to howard stern and all my fav sirius-xm radio programs helped keep my mind of the clock.i'm headed to a jcpenney in a large mall by 2pm tomorrow guess maybe i get some shopping in while i'm there, i need some new nikes and baseball cap.
P.s. yes the swift truck beat down is true. -
we'll i'm back here in hull hope, al. well this has been my best week since joining the company, i just got another long trip back to york, pa (1100mi..sorry) i will finish the week with 2800miles while thats a good week i also see it as bad also because i been with the company since jan 11, 2010 and until this week i been getting like 1200 to 1500 a week....sometimes. i know not to expect such a good week next week but i will keep the pressure on my dm to keep me running hard. for all you guys sitting the northeast and midwest as you read this (2/24 5:15pm est) sorry for you, it's nice and warm and sunny here in alabama.
my dm asked for my odometer reading today and i asked why he wanted know, his reply was just so maintenance can keep up with your pm's...and i replied...i was hoping you would say to see how many miles were on the truck so they could sell it when the new trucks come in.............his reply....i don't think the new trucks are coming until mid to late march maybe April maybe....he not sure.
thats all for now guys. catch you later...cyaaaaaaaaaaaaa
