    So, does a person get a ticket for that. I have seen a few trucks do that because it can take them a while to get through the light. I hear the cameras doesn't get you if you're most of the way through it but I am interested in how that works.

    If your past the stop line, therefore in the intersection, before the red, no harm, no ticket. Besides, the red is just decoration anyway.

    I think a lot would depend on the demeanor of the officer who saw it happen, and where precisely you were in his opinion. If I am approaching a stale light, I always kinda lift off until I have passed my point of no return, then I am on the fuel again. At larger intersections that have cross walks, I glance at the crosswalk light, sometimes it has a countdown timer, sometimes the sign just flashes. Gives me a better guess as to when the light may change.

    Just remember that the 4-wheelers waiting at the opposing red light are doing the same thing, anticipating the green. And as you know, they are not a patient bunch. In a former career of mine, I often had to investigate and/or clean up the mess when two vehicles validated once again the Pauli Exclusion Principle that two bodies cannot occupy the same space at the same time.

    Pushing that stale light can lead to an unpleasant meeting in the intersection...and the unavoidable "negative contact with law enforcement."

    It was my fault, the light turned yellow when I was about 75 feet from it. I was only doing 25 and the instructer said I could have stopped, but I was scared of locking up and skidding since it was raining.

    Being new it is hard to get used to doing everything like it was second nature. I have to shift at 1500 rpm, downshift at 1100 rev engine +400, remember to double clutch, check my mirrors, observe what is going on in front of me and all other sides, listen to instructor, know which gear I am in, and they want me to narrate what I am doing. Whew...

    It is a lot to do for a person that has never drove a big truck before. I will get it and I think it will be easier when I lose the instructor telling me what to do all the time. At least it will be one less distraction.

    Scary part when I was doing my driving in school was I was locked left to get the truck around a tight corner, and then the right steering wheel started sliding on some ice, I was swearing and seeing the opposite gutter coming towards me realy quick, then finally gripped and got around, wasnt that worried though as I was maybe at 10mph, and if I hit the gutter would of just been a jolt

    Oh my! I never ever thought of that. Now I am going to have to re-evaluate my whole concept of getting through intersections.
    Hammer down regardless of what's there...right?
