I'm going to disagree with you on the "physically going to a driver in person" part but only partially. Yes I believe that it is important to gather information from a "real" physical person as you say but I also believe that I am and many drivers on here are real physical ppl as well. The going over to a driver in a truck stop or wherever a wannabe might encounter a truck driver is a double edged sword, just as it is on here, the benefit of getting the information on here is that you will get more information a lot faster. Either on here or in the real physical world you will find happy truckers and miserable ones. It's just like every other job in life. Glass half empty ppl and ppl who see the sunny sides of things.
So what? Are you saying that all disgruntled truckers writing in this forum are the real ones ... and that the payed bloggers are all the happy ones?
And with what factual evidence are you claiming that there is false and misleading information on here? Have you even read what ppl write about these "bottom feeder" companies? Have you read what ppl write about their favorite companies? Even on those you will find a negative comment here and there ... and vice a versa. I for one can say that the information provided on this website has helped me thru my first yr and a lot of the negative that drivers have wrote about has been true and also a lot of the good.
Information is simply that ... you are the one responsible with what you do with that information...

Not to mention the ones you will never find in truckstops; the shuttle/linehaul driver earning $60-80k that jumps into a fueled tractor, does his ten hour yard to yard turn and goes home.airforcetoo Thanks this.

Well well! Looks like I struck a nerve here. Again, "physically speaking with other drivers" is the absolute best way to obtain accurate information regarding a career in the trucking industry. And speaking with as many drivers as possible cannot be surpassed. Period. In fact, this advice is so obvious that if you disagree, you're actually revealing a possible hidden agenda. Perhaps.. trying to steer possible new recruits away from the truth as to how poor a choice it would be to become a driver for these large over the road companies? Hmm, I wonder. All you paid, professional bloggers might better be considering a career change yourselves; perhaps writing fiction for children. At least its honest.

So ...do you really think I should try writing the next Harry Potter?
LOL ... no sir, no nerve struck here, you gotta try a little harder to do that; LOL. It's just plain to see that you have been watching one to many conspiracy theory movies. I suggest you re-read what I wrote previously whereas I said "I'm going to disagree with you partially" furthermore then I will suggest you check what I've written on here and you will see that your claim that I'm paid to write on here is erroneous; and if I seem too "happy" for your standards that's mainly because I try to be as objective as I possibly can about things and most of all see the bright side of this F'ed up industry. -
