I've a 2007 Pete that the back up lights don't work on. I checked everything I could standing up. The 15 amp fuse is good and the relay is good. Then it dawned on me. I had the transmission swapped out for a rebuilt here a while back and I'm wondering if they just left it unplugged or if it even has the switch at all. Did the old ones have switches? I've got a 96 that doesn't appear to have them but who knows if it's stock or not. What rules are we talking about here?
Did all Eaton Fuller 13 Speeds come with a reverse switch

Yes they all have switches that screw into the top cover of trans
-
Are you talking about the white light that goes on when you put the truck in reverse?
-
-
my trans doesn't have a switch or a place to put it either. I just have it hooked up to a toggle switch with a beeping speaker. some didn't have the switch option on the older trucks.
-
look on the shifter plate cover about the 4 o'clock position from the shift tower for a switch or plug. if it has the option.
-
pffff. not sure it is a big deal! I know that is DOT issue ..... any chance you can put a switch in the truck? Manual switch!
Honestly how many times you got out of the way of a truck backing up because a light light up under the trailer? -
It's a DOT issue cause the DOT man said it wasn't working. I know it was working in the past but I don't know if it was working after the trans change. I was wondering if it had to have it? Like you say my truck has a trailer attached to it. No one can see that anyway.
I haven't crawled under it to look but I suspect the transmission I got was one that didn't have a switch at all or had a bad switch to begin with. I've got to get up under it and find out I suppose. I know it used to work and like I said I checked the fuse and the relay and they are both good so the switch is the only thing left to check. -
If you have work lights on the back of your sleeper cab you meet requirements of having a working backup light, as long as they work. That's the only backup lights I have.
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Every fuller trans I've had from 1975 to 2015 all had the port in the top plate to screw a switch in for back up lights .
It's law. What do you think turns the backup lights on when you put it in reverse???????
I'm not talking about the cargo or load lights on side of your cab or sleeper either.
