If creep mode barely moves the truck, how much throttle are you giving it (as a percentage of total throttle distance to the floor) and how quickly are you giving it that amount of throttle before it responds by lurching?

So your post title should read,,,

Did Prime intentionally set out to make a good automatic transmission crappy?

Why defame Freightliner, they don’t even make the transmission and the DT12 seems to be right behind the IShift as the best automatic transmission available at this time.

Why are you guys assuming that Im holding it to the floor?
The thing ONLY HAS ECO MODE ENABLED. Its reving up to 2000 to skip shift. It ALWAYS SKIP SHIFTS i eco mode regardless of how you drive it.
The reason why it goes to 20 is because its compensating for the fact the truck is soo heavy that you lose 5mph in the time it takes this thing to shift from first to forth.
Then it will shift too high and because the truck is heavy when it shifts into 1000rpm, the truck slows to 800 to 900 rpm before it gives theottle back. The delay after shifting is too long.
Then it just sits there at 900rpm forever until you force it to downshift.
Im not making it drive this way, its stuck in eco mode which is a profile designed around trucks hauling 11000 pounds.
Yes, freightliner actually said that they think the average cargo weight is 11000.
Whats even worse is that the beancounters at prime beleive everything fl tells them and fl told them to lock the trucks into eco mode and to cut back on power.

At 79000+ pounds the thing nearly requires 60% throttle to creep, however it usually will dump the clutch shortly after causing it to jump. Keep in mind this is a flatbed trailer so backing it at an angle is basically as much drag.as trying to back a trailer with the brakes locked.
The front axle drags sideways because the trailer pivots at the rear.

Because prime is doing what freightliner told them to do. They literally have fl emloyees stationed full time at the terminal giving guidance on everything.

I dont have control over the shift points, manual mode is disabled so when you try to take over and shift it the right way, it always shifts it back 2 seconds later.
You just want to tale a gun and shoot the #### thing.

I suggest you leave the jake braking alone for the time being. You want to KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) No Im not insulting you. This comes from our Military who bled and died to uphold that 11th commandment. Wait until you are at cruise, and your engine is at warmest operating temperature and instantly responsive to your throttle. Go ahead flip it on for the downgrade when you get to it. Usually a truckstop or a company departure yard is inside a village or town, wait 10 minutes and get clear of all those poor senstiive people trying to sleep as you ease past their house jangling the china on their dining room shelf (Don't you laugh dam it...) and they certainly appreciate you not using the BLATLABLATLABLAT waking up everyone. Wait until you hit a proper mountain pass. Then joyfully max your brake out on 3 foot exhaust pipes. Rock the earth, anyone still bleating in complaint screwed up by living on that hill, not you.,

You don't set the cruise for nothing until you are at cruise on the interstate. Your low number of 30 indicates a desire to get through a early morning local bear or state bear radar trap at the edge of town with a limit of 35 waiting until forever you finally can open her up and let's go. It's a form of laziness to run the cruise in town. If a child darts out and you jump to do things in that cab only to find out that OTTO is failthfully executing your errorneous Order to have low speed cruise on, that kid is dead and so is your future.

Do you understand? Im not your enemy. Let's make that list less complicated and less stressful. You can go do things later when it's time to cross redeye pass.

You know, I like you. Where do you want the round fired? ECM?

With that out of the way, I think maybe I try to ask another simple question.

"IN the face of company micromanagement of it's drivers by constant diddling of the software inside their trucks to create a truly POS frightening mountain that will get someone killed at 50 mph on some Texas Interstate going by at 90 someday...."

Why do you accept such a absurd incompetance displayed by the entire trucking company's operations staff and continue to submit to such stress, frustration and other complications that will turn you into not a nice person some day when you get off work and go home.

Let's get you away from this hell hole and find you a Nice Company to run for.

No, Freightliner doing what Prime is asking them to do.

Your configuration is not what Freightliner and Detroit Diesel sets up by default. If it was Prime would not need to have those Freightliner employee's stationed full time at the terminal to help tweak things..

Prime is asking Freightliner for help in changing the default parameters to their liking. Lots of other companies run the DT12 without disabling features resulting in those issues.

Open your eyes and place blame where it belongs.

Prime is responsible for making a nice soup into a rotting maggot infested tractor on 10 tires before issuing them to drivers who do not know what they are getting.

I have no problem calling out prime and it's dedicated office staff working to mess with trucks they don't understand and ought to leave well enough the hay-ul alone. That is between YOU the DRIVER and the SHOP. Everyone else butt out.

If Prime continues to play these games, one day someone or a family is going to get killed pretty violently and the COurts will eviscerate Prime when it comes up just what they do to destroy the trucks from a software point of view among other things.

I have hired onto in orientation, and on the second day discover with the road trip truck just how whipped it is I will pay myself to go home. I refuse to spend one minute with a outfit determined to make a mockery of trucking. It is the last and best thing People have a chance to do in this failing society and I will be ###### if the equiptment is deliberately deflowered and then casterated so that YOU the trucker cannot be effective when it's time to do so.
