It depends rather or not you list the employer on a application,if the past employer used DAC,and the company your applying to use DAC the new company will find out about past employer. Then by federal law the new company will send all past companies a drug and alcohol verification form. The company you failed the test at again per federal dot law has to give information about any and All failed drug test.Dont think they can post any kind of medical on DAC that gets in to privacy laws.Thats why you sign the drug testing verification form from a new employer to be sent to past employer so they can release that information

Information for the future,if you know you can't pass don't take the test tell the employer you have a drug problem Then they have to give you the opportunity to enroll in a treatment plan they can't fire you .Now they will test you more frequently after treatment

DAC is ONLY a database. Nothing else. DAC does have testing information only as far as the testing and positive or negative results. This is only what is released to the carrier anyway. I would not be concerned about DAC anyway. Most new employers are going to send drug testing results requests for all old jobs up to that 10 year minimum spelled out in the rules. They build driver qualification files before and during orientations. Most WILL NOT officially hire you till this file is finished and those requests are in. This is why I keep trying to stress the fact that DAC is only ONE tool of many available.

One more thing. Once the MRO positive FMCSA mandated database is up and running a carrier will be required to scan a driver through it before they hire you. Right now this database is hung up in the FMCSA rule making. It might not happen real soon but rest assured it will happen!
