Friday (10-19), I just Graduated from C-1 in Fort Worth, and was scheduled to go to Orientation for PAM on Monday. But on Thursday (two days ago), I get a call from Driver's Solution, saying that now PAM has pulled my job offer. Now, I have one ticket, which I did tell them about on my application, no wrecks, clear bill of health, Passed all of my tests with flying colors, the first time, Got my CDL, did everything that I was supposed to do, and PAM cuts me, just like that. I called PAM that same day, and I learn that Dan Kee was the one who denied me, and that he won't be available to tell me why until Monday (too late) After looking at my contract, it looks like what may happen, is that because I won't work for PAM, I'll be hit with a $6000 bill, AND I won't get my diploma because I won't be able to work with them for a year. So basically, I spent the whole month doing everything right; everything that what I was supposed to do, and for reasons completely out of my control, I get hit with a huge bill, and I can't use my training to go with another company. Yes, I did sign the contract, but you don't expect to be screwed over for reasons that are out of your control. It's like saying "You must wash that window, or I'll fine you $6000....BTW, I won't allow you to wash that window, so here's your $6000 bill" This can't possibly hold up in court...
Did I just get ripped off?

Do you have a CDL? If you do go get a job no company can take your CDL once its issued only the state can take it away from you and in that only a judge can really do that. For $6k I hope you have a CDL in your hand.
-
the 6k bill is for school.
he has the cdl. i'm guessing. it's not going anywhere. -
Son....you should have researched this company before going to them. They are a bad, bad, bad, bad, mill school, and are notorious of doing this. Yes, they will come after you for the money through a collection agency that will harass you unless you make payments to them, because a buddy of mine went through PAM and got screwed royally. So, I would suggest that you take your CDL and go to other companies and apply...because once you say the name PAM they will understand completely and not hold it against you. If you did nothing wrong then you will have no problem getting on with another company to do your OTR training. Just be happy that you didn't get stuck with a trainer who wouldn't train you, and then send you out on your own to sit for 3-4 days waiting for a load with $300 a week pay and that is being solo. It is a blessing in disguise, and you don't even know it.
red_eye and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
You should consult with an attorney if they attempt to collect from you.

I did get the CDL, but from what I hear, most companies won't touch you without school training, and while I did graduate from C1, I don't have the diploma. Is there a way to prove that I did graduate?
-
You don't need a diploma...you have training for C-1 with a previous commitment of employment from Pam, which in return would take a certain dollar amount from your pay to pay the remaining $4000 after they paid the $2000. I am telling you that you are not the first one this has happened to, and they went on to get jobs with other carriers. Carter Express here in Anderson, IN hired plenty of drivers that went through C-1 that got screwed, so I am telling you that you can look for another job that offers training with a trainer....just explain what happened if asked and they will understand completely.

if you are not the first person that this has happened to, then people need to start calling the consumer protection division of the States Attorney General's office.
Their job is to shut down companies that pull this kind of crap. It's what you elect the Attorney General for and it's what they have staff to work on for.

Why do people keep glossing over the fact he was denied because of the SPEEDING TICKET HE DIDN'T PUT ON HIS APP? How much was the speeding ticket for. I'm sure it must of been over 15 since you kindly left it off the app. If not where do you live? I might can give you a company who will hire you if you are in the Ft. Worth area.
Erase erase. Hooked on phonics did not work fore me. -
From what I read, he told them about a speeding ticket, where are you getting that......Pmracing and trashtruckin22 Thank this.
