Soooo last night I decided I wanted to take 1/2 a sleeping pill. It was prescribed to me, back in Oct. to use at my discretion. I use so little. that I still have quite a few left...Anyway, I took 1/2 of an Ambien (5mg) last night. I'm supposed to start driving school on Mon and take my DOT physical....Is this going to screw me?? I do have a prescription (though it's expired and needs a refill if I ever wanted to get more)....

When you go have them with you to show if it shows up.

I am not sure if it one you are or not allowed, but if your not driving yet when you took it should not be a problem, I could be wrong. But with sleeping pills and trucking do not mix. Most cases the pills they say ur not allowed to drive while taking need so many hours from the time you take it.

I have had pain pills I carried with me. If I am forced to take one I sat till it fully done it thing and out of the system. (Being Disable and have pain 24/7 some time worst than others)

The only problem I see, is if the doctor wants to see the prescription & you show him an expired prescription. Can you delay the driving school until the next Monday? Ambien may not even be a disqualifier.

I hate to be that guy.....But if you have to take a sleeping pill to sleep at the comforts of your own home, what are you going to do when your under constant stress driving a truck trying to sleep?
