Soooo last night I decided I wanted to take 1/2 a sleeping pill. It was prescribed to me, back in Oct. to use at my discretion. I use so little. that I still have quite a few left...Anyway, I took 1/2 of an Ambien (5mg) last night. I'm supposed to start driving school on Mon and take my DOT physical....Is this going to screw me?? I do have a prescription (though it's expired and needs a refill if I ever wanted to get more)....
Did I just screwup, bigtime?

When you go have them with you to show if it shows up.

so you dont think i should need a current prescription then, coastie? because i take so few of them, that I didn't even think about it....And is Ambien one of the meds you're not allowed to take??
-
Prescribed is different but u will not be able to take when out driving as long as you have presription in your name you will be fine just tell them do t hide itm or you will be screwed.
coastie Thanks this. -
I am not sure if it one you are or not allowed, but if your not driving yet when you took it should not be a problem, I could be wrong. But with sleeping pills and trucking do not mix. Most cases the pills they say ur not allowed to drive while taking need so many hours from the time you take it.

I have had pain pills I carried with me. If I am forced to take one I sat till it fully done it thing and out of the system. (Being Disable and have pain 24/7 some time worst than others)

thanks, scar.....i dont think sleeping will be a problem once i'm driving again! i appreciate the comeback...ive been worried about this since last night after taking it and realizing i didnt know if it was ok.........
-
thanks, again coastie.....i was just really worried that it was one of those meds that for some reason wasnt allowed or something and i was soooo upset i might have screwed my future over 1/2 a freaking sleeping pill!

The only problem I see, is if the doctor wants to see the prescription & you show him an expired prescription. Can you delay the driving school until the next Monday? Ambien may not even be a disqualifier.

I hate to be that guy.....But if you have to take a sleeping pill to sleep at the comforts of your own home, what are you going to do when your under constant stress driving a truck trying to sleep?
Arizona..Fats and luv2drive365 Thank this.
