That sux op, but I don't see it hurting your career one bit. I would suggest moving to a place that takes freedom now seriously. If I had a fleet and you applied with me, told me what happened. I'd hand you a set of keys, give you a pat on the back and an at a boy, and invite you to the shooting range on your off day.
Mudguppy Thanks this. -
Isn't it amazing how a company can make policy that violates someone's constitutional right yet that's "OK".
This type of crap needs a legal challenge.
As it was previously said,, this PC Bull-S has to stop!! -
My thoughts exactly. Something just doesn't sound right here.
I had an '83 (first year production) S-10 Blazer 4X4. It was fine for the first 90K or so, then worthless thereafter. (It was purchased as an "experiment" with the SO that I worked for at the time.
Then I had a '94 S-10 Blazer 4X4 with the Vortec V-6 in it. Had this one when I was in Death Valley, (also a patrol unit.) Outside of the alternator catching fire, (twice, actually,) I really liked that little truck.
Yeah, but I wonder if any of us will live long enough to see it stop. And just WHAT is it going to take to stop it. Kind of a sobering thought.
I think, if I was the OP, that I'd at least contact an attorney and lay it out for him. See what he says. -
Don't get me wrong, I liked my blazer, which was a 2003. But it only had seating for 4. I bought it to celebrate my divorce from wife #1 and figured I'd never need 4 doors or more than 4 seats!
Well then I got involved with wife #2 and inherited my oldest daughter and then Lily came along. She was born in August 2009 and by November, we were carshopping, putting a baby seat in the back of a 2 door Blazer just wasn't working. Thats when we got the 2008 Suzuki XL7 that baby mama drives now. One more payment!
I need to find a pic to show Lily the car she was brought home in.

Because if he's driving that truck anything in that truck is his responsibility. If there is something illegal then he will be at fault. But you're also right, the driver who drove his truck should have took the bag out of the truck and not look inside of it. That's the problem with slip seating.
-
If guns and ammo are against company policy why's it in the truck in the first place.
The guy going through your bag is an a hole though. -
To my understanding he had possibly bought the ammo out on the road, you know get a good deal somewhere. Done it many times myself although the company would rather you not. I think the proper thing to do is the slip seater should have made a phone call or taken the bag to the office, problem with that is, to many nosey people anymore looking for something new to talk about. And in this case it was found.
-
If the bag didn't have any identification on it then most likely the driver thought it was something the company put in the truck. As much as the OP wants to whine and point fingers this is completely on them. They ####ed up. Period. End of story. -
Obviously op was going to shoot up his terminal with an expanded magazine assault knife. If you're a million miler and have been overall a safe driver i don't see why another company wouldn't hire you, just don't leave stuff in a slip seater again.
