I wish more people had that mindset. I have nothing against a responsible person carrying because anyone with an ounce of common sense knows criminals will always have guns regardless of the laws.
Company (and a lot of customers) policies prevent me from packing my 12 gauge in the truck with me. Not that I'm worried about other people, but I'm in remote areas a lot and it'd be nice for protection from bears, wolves and cougars (the furry 4 leg kind, not the ones with money).
Did I **** up my career permanently?

Your company must have some real modern day sheeple gun grabbing Diane Fienstien type mutha ####az working there. -
If you dont want your stuff messed with take care of your ####. Why didn't you take your bag with you? Laziness? Forgetfulness? Get over it. Why should someone else have to do your job and haul your #### around? Grow up and take responsibility for your actions.G.Anthony Thanks this. -
Geeze guys, haven't you ever screwed up and left something in the truck that you didn't mean to? Crap happens to everybody.
I don't know exactly why, but if I'm reading his thread right, he was either a Wallyworld driver or a driver on a Wallyworld contract. It is quite likely that his company does NOT normally do slip seating, but this happened to be the nasty exception.
My last job, we would sometimes have to jump in a road tractor if we didn't have any extra city trucks and somebody had one in the shop. These drivers did NOT expect to be in a "slip seated" position, and they did NOT clear out their stuff when they parked. To my knowledge, nobody ever went through their stuff, let alone stole anything or went sniveling to management because somebody had something in THEIR PERSONAL STUFF that "offended" them. For one thing, management would have been all over them like stink on crap for even looking in the guys personal stuff.
Sure, you can get all paranoid and worry that the regular driver might have some contraband in there. But realistically, how often is that likely to happen? Not very, particularly if you are talking dope. Because if he is carrying it, he is using it, and it will show up on a random pee or follicle test. -
many years ago, i was working for an OTR company, not a mega by the way.
i picked up some female hitch-hiker.
she had her way with me, and i disemboweled her body afterwards. i got rid of most of the dismembered body parts, but kept her T.T.T.T.'s as a souvenir. to this day, i was told by a former mechanic, they still think, i had raisins in the sleeper.
