So I had the pleasure of buying a used truck with super single recaps on the drives.
I lost two caps last week as the temps went up. The first one to go was on the front drive axle. Replaced with a virgin. A few days later, the second axle cap went. Same side. Both on the DPF side.
My only other thought is that is where the drain lines are for the reefer. Could the water have caused uneven heating, and cap separation? The caps were nearly new.
I'm just curious, and $2500 lighterLove my MPG with my supers.
Did my DPF cause me to lose two drive recaps?

Caps are junk , super single or not. I don't see how the dpf could have had anything to do with it.

slow.rider and 77fib77 Thank this.

depends on what recap. we run recaps and test tires all day every day and never really have a problem

I highly doubt it. Heat dissipates fast so unless the tire is mere inches away I don't think its a DPF issue.
If it was, every single truck on the road with similar specs would have that issue.rachi, Tb0n3, feldsforever and 7 others Thank this. -
