I was actually going to post in this thread about how much faster this mobile version is then tapatalk in low signal area's.

Have you tried it? This morning I only had 1G and this forum was loading fairly quickly, but when I went to tapatalk to browse other forums I'm on they took A LOT longer to load. But it might just be my phone.

I used to use tapatalk often, but then it seemed they were always doing updats and each one was worse then the one before.

I'd have to disagree. While the mobile version looks pretty good, it lacks all the advanced features that Tapatalk brought, This isn't the only forum I'm on, while that not a concern of TTR, it did allow everything I do to seamlessly integrate into one app. The biggest downside to me is the lack of push updates to threads I'm subscribed to, getting a push telling me there and update and then just tapping the notification that I'm already reading is far easier than using a mobile site. Even if I enable instant email notification that means getting a notification telling me there's an email, opening that email telling me there's an update which will only be a link to the thread, then launching a browser to read the thread. While that’s not a lot of work, it's a lot more steps than just tapping a single notification that I'm already reading and going straight there. The site is much better on XenForo, but I hope you guys reconsider installing Tapatalk at some point. I'd assume there's probably a pretty descent amount of us doing this with Mobile devices seeing what we all do for a living. Having options is always nice.

I think that as you explore all the options on the mobile version more in depth you will realize its far superior to tapatalk. Thats what almost all of us who formally used tapatalk have come to find out.

I would encourage you to spend some time really learning how to use the mobile version .

I agree with you on this point very much. With Tapatalk at least I got push notifications that even showed part of what the reply was on the thread I was following. That allowed me to see if it was something I needed to respond to right then or if it could wait. Now with the email only notifications, and those don't show up instantly sometimes, all I see is so and so replied. That's great, but it's a pain to get back to the site, find the thread scroll to that part of the thread and then read the reply. Even worse when it's only someone saying subscribed because they can't figure out how to read the big button that says watch this thread.

Then there is the having to scroll up to the top just to go to then next page or back a page.

I would have to disagree with you. I've been using the mobile version very constantly everyday since the upgrade and I find it much harder to use then Tapatalk. I have no real control over how it looks and with this very bright white look it has, it's hard on the eyes at night. With Tapatalk I could turn the display to night mode where it was a black background with white text, very easy in the eyes at night.

I shouldn't have to go through multiple steps to open a thread or just to check to see if there has been a reply.

I wish the mobile site was better then Tapatalk, but it's not. I've noticed since the upgrade that the threads I follow that use to get posts on them multiple times an hour are lucky if they get a post a couple times a day. That alone should tell someone that this upgrade and the lack of Tapatalk support has had a huge impact on usability.

I deal with this new mobile version only because I want to help my fellow drivers and not because I like the new version.

I also agree as much as I try to use the mobile it just isn't Tapatalk. Everything just flowed. Now there multiple steps to do to find a post, uploading pictures now you need to resize and hope it works. I've actually cut back my usuage on ttr. Teaching old dogs new tricks is nearly impossible today just not enough time in the day to break them.

So where are my favorite threads located? Just spent 15 mins can't find my favorite threads. Before one click poof I'm there. Now multiple clicks still nothing. God life was so much easier before. Ugh.

I'm doing that now. Prior to Tapatalk I used mobile versions of sites exclusively. Like I said, the mobile site will never be able to send me push notifications to keep me up to date, it will never be able to create a feed of all my updates or new threads from this and other forums at a glance. I'll give the mobile site credit for being a very good one compared to many others I've used, It can mimic some of that but never integrate it into everything else I'm doing, and that why Tapatalk exists. It's nothing against the mobile version of the forum there's nothing wrong with it, Tapatalk just does it better. Same reason all the email apps these days even privately labeled ones like Gmail and Yahoo allow you to add other peoples accts to them, even their rivals, it's all about integration. Why launch 3 different apps to check 3 different things, when one app can check all 3? It's just adding steps that don't need to be there. The Forum isn't a democracy and the mods/owner can do whatever they want obviously, I just hope they take peoples preferences into the equation. Seems I'm far from the only one that is missing Tapatalk.

Hi guys, I appreciate the feedback, and I hear your frustrations. We'll continue to make improvements to the mobile performance of the site, though Tapatalk will not be offered again as an option. I value the knowledge you're contributing to the community, and I'm sorry the decision might cause you to stop or reduce the frequency of your visits.

Tapatalk has been an abusive partner for many years, and I'm tired of fighting their attempts to hijack our forum. Cutting them off is necessary for the long-term health of the site.

I only used tapatalk to post photos...... so I can't comment on how it was to really use tapatalk .

I surfed TR using safari and that seemed fine to me.....

The new software is Missing post #s and posters names mainly ....

    Now to uninstall tapatalk .....
