No I can't agree with your comment. If detention is made part of the contract and the carrier collects it they will pay the drivers. Most of the carriers want to pay detention and lay over pay but are forced to be careful in these area's because they generally don't get reimbursed. For the record speak to an owner and see what their profit margins are per truck after they pay the driver, pay for the fuel and pay for the permits, road taxes and other legals. Trust me, it is not all that much.
