Then tell them $3000 for 3 days. Make it worth your time. Its either they unload you, or you get paid for your time, or you take it back.... its their choice.

But.... dont tell/threaten anything you arent willing to stand behind. If they tell you to take it back or get paid "X" amount for your time, you better be willing to do so.

They ordered the stuff and are not ready,,Should you be the one holding the bag? Have them find a cross dock that can hold it and deliver it when they want. You are not a warehouse unless compensated for it.

    Grubby Thanks this.

Start looking for storage facilities. But if the broker will not pay to hold it, then take it back and charge for the return trip.

    Grubby and Mattflat362 Thank this.

The broker will pay or deal with the consequences. They can charge the shipper. None of this is your problem.

    Grubby and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

    I have a question ( raises hand ).

Say he takes it back to shipper. What guarantee does he have he will be unloaded, or that he will be paid for the round trip?

Grubby, snowwy, Shock Therapy and 4 others Thank this.

I have eaten money for principles several times. I feel better for sure. I don't think about the lost money...I only think about and remember the POS who tried to tell ME what to do with MY truck and MY time.

I don't know and I have never had to find out but I imagine the shipper would want and take it back. Good question though.
