I'll be working through Christmas, but I took home time this past week here in Denver to see my girls.
Took them Christmas shopping, then to a movie on my bday.
Since they will be having the usual big family Christmas down in the Springs (and the ex-hubby is not welcome) it was just like being home for Christmas.
did you want to be home for christmas, but aren't?

Well first my dispatcher gives me a load headed for scranton, pa that delivers on the 26th, home is on the way and I could stop by while under load. I tell the woman and we plan a suprise for our daughter (she isn't blood but calls me daddy now). Then omw to pick up the load dispatcher calls to tell me the load was cancelled by the shipper. I say ok and hang up then start raging. I didn't ask for the days off but days at home are like gems beyond price (actually I figured every day at home costs about $150). To think you are getting them then have them taken away, I snapped.
About an hour later he called me back and found me a load going to MA that delivers by the 27. So I still get to stop by home.
otr wasn't bad until I got a 10 yo girl saying daddy we need you home. Now I just want enough experience for a dedicated route/local run.scottied67 and vmaggs Thank this. -

This is truly sad. whether OTR or local. I have always been home for freakin Christmas. It sorry to see what these companies have you all brainwashed into. Best part is your eating pressed turkey out of a truckstop rather than a home cooked meal. This just affirmes my going to O/O status rather than staying a company man. Hope all of you have a good one. No Matter wheere you are.
