What did your company say and who you driving for now?One gallon isn't nothing but you driving 500 miles could have made some serious damage.Let us know what Petro says.

The OP said his engine did de-rate (had noticeable loss of power) so something happened. I'm curious if the tank was full and he could only get a gallon in? If so, and he's having issues, then he has issues regardless and adding more DEF to dilute is not an option because the 2 don't mix. I'm wondering if the DEF pickup "floats" in some systems meaning it would pull in raw fuel that is on the top. I doubt the pickup is at the bottom of the tank because that stuff generates a lot of sediment as it's exposed to oxygen that would settle to the bottom.

But on the other hand, if the pickup sits in the bottom of the tank, then it would seem adding more DEF to push the diesel higher and away from the intake would be a logical thing to do at this point. But this would only be a temporary solution and you could never run the system low on DEF until the system was properly flushed. Furthermore, I suppose there would be some temporary intermixing when bouncing around on rough roads.

So how is Petro going to know just from refilling tank? Are you going to have to drive it to find out or what?

I imagine its costing a lot just for Petros labor then the cost of DEF.

I read this one earlier. The word "stupid" is in every other post. Thus, I started this new thread. In my case it is "not taught" rather, not "stupid".
