Thanks again for the support.
I said I liked the clubs in Austin (did not actually go to one).
To Dinomite:
I am not going to argue with you, because I am not such person (although it's really itching!!!). Let me ask you this: what would YOU do, at this very moment, if you were in my shoes?
I cannot leave, because I will be charged with truck abandonment. I don't have any choice but to wait.

I find it comical how upset you are about this. Just going on and on about it. I mean did the op personally cost you any money in this fiasco?

I would call Werner and Get the Real deal on what's going on. It doesn't take that long to fix that crap. I also wouldn't use my own money to pay for that motel room. In all my years I've never heard of any company driver waiting 9 days for a repair. They usually get the driver up to a terminal and put him in another truck. Now truly I'm not here to argue, but to say what is done is done, but to let you know. It's going to be a hard up hill battle if you want to continue driving. Sadly the only people who will hire you will be worse then the mega's. Like the Western Expresses of the world. I don't wish for nobody to lose their job, but I do know trucking companies don't like spending extra money. So when you become a liability instead of an asset. They tend to get rid of you. I'm just saying instead of looking for clubs and river walks. You should have some apps, and some orientations lined up. I'll be dang if I'm going to sit 9 days for 20 bucks a day. Oh dang I just seen you live in Florida. Now that really hinders your job opportunities. I'd also been practicing on my defense and puppy dog look for future interviews.

I'm upset at people who have to put their screen name after they post something. Who does that?

Wow.. first, I am in the "this is not a mistake" camp... but for you happy campers in the "he made a mistake hope ne had a lovely weekend" camp.. would you be so understanding if you went in for knee surgery on your left knee and they cut up your right knee... oops, sorry they look so much alike... dont worry about it doc, go have yourself a nice weekend.... it is easy when it is your truck that got damaged, when it is not you paying for the repairs...
It is a mistake when you can fix it yourself and learn from it... like not getting out when hooking up to a trailer to make sure it isnt too high and gonna jump the 5th wheel... make that mistake and stand out in the cold fixing it you learn not to do that again...
Now, since this ks the first time he had to put DEF in... I am guessing it is less than 30 days since he got off his trainers truck.... which means his trainer is gonna get dinged for this... when a rookie has an accident, mishap or mistake of this magnitude it goes against the trainer... the trainer may be restricted from taking on another student which hurts their paycheck, the trainer may even have to go through the train the trainer class again with no or very little pay... I hope he has done the right thing and called his trainer to gave him a heads up...
The truth you can spit out all the excuses you want.. the trainer didnt teach me about DEF, not all orientations are equal, I didnt see all tne signs on the truck, pumps or terminal walls, but the truth is you were irresponsible... and I am sure it showed up in other areas of your performance which is why you only managed to make a couple hundred dollars each week.... -
About the waiting:
First Freightliner could not take the truck in (because they were busy) From Friday until Thursday - 7 days. Then they were waiting for an approval from Werner. Next day, Friday, I learn from Freightliner that Werner requested that certain parts be repaired rather than replaced. From Freightliner they told them no, have to replace them. Then again waiting for Werner to approve. Later that day I call my fleet mgr to try speed up the process. I get a call an hour later from fleet mgr repairs have been approved. Friday afternoon I call the dealership to see if they have started working on the truck. They tell me they don't have approval. Called fleet mgr again, told him what happened, he calls breakdown department, says there IS an approval. Back to the dealership, they say the person who MIGHT have the approval in his email is out for the weekend until Monday (tomorrow).
So, this is how 10 days pass. I still have to figure out where this approval is tomorrow morning.
About lining up orientations:
Spoke with a couple of friends that have their own authorities. It's a matter of insurance and if their policy will cover me (turning up a year in a week).
About paying for hotel out of pocket:
How else would you do it?
About my defense:
Ready to hire a lawyer, if it comes to it.

Tonakis.. I am just curious... but you clearly have access to the Internet and with only making a couple hundred dollars a week you had plenty of down time.. why with being assigned a DEF truck did you not go to the werner website, log in and take one of the DEF computer modules... they have one that has a video which goes over everything you wojld need to know about DEF.. goes over fueling and regen... it is about a 10 minute video.. there is also a DEF PDF under the resources tab...

Hi,
You clearly have not been following this thread. No trainers are involved.
This thread is solely for the purpose to let others too learn from my mistake. I am sure other people who posted also learned a thing or two. Kind of giving back to this forum, as I have learned a lot myself.
skyviper73, 88 Alpha and pattyj Thank this. -
Most motels/hotels takes EFS/COMDATA/Fleetone checks.Think maybe Werner would have found you a hotel that they have an account with or those checks I mentioned. The 3 yrs I was with them,I not once paid for a room. What im thinken is Werner may not reimburse you so u better be prepared for that.
