    No worries, man, thanks.

It got "cooler" by Texas standards. 14C with wind and scattered rain. Have a friend in Wasaga, ON who got 30cm of snow overnight last night. I feel your pain too :)

Ah, Wasaga. That's a great little town in the summertime. After prom it was customary to head down for a weekend and rent a little cottage or camp there and mingle with all the other young people. Had some great times there! You ever been to Canada? I've been to Ft. Lauderdale many years ago and remember the warmest of weather, great beaches and gorgeous women everywhere I looked. Though I think my next trip to Florida will have to be to South Beach :)

No one is saying it wasn't a bonehead mistake, or even negligent. However, he didn't pull up to the pumps and think, I'm going to put diesel in the def tank, maybe it will run better. Imo, if it wasn't done on purpose, it was a mistake. Hopefully he won't lose his job over it since the incident will make finding a new one that much harder.

I do agree that I would not be paying for a hotel out of pocket. There are many ways a company can pay the bill. I would of told them upfront I didn't have the money for one and they would have a solution all ready. You also made me double check our breakdown pay policy, which is 75$ per day. Makes ME feel a little better anyways ;)

Tonakis did you really spit out another excuse.. there are 350 modules and hou were not assigned a DEF module... the mistake here is in the belief that you are responsible enough to be assigned your own truck... clearly hoj eeded to be with a trainer longer.. you are not able to use the resourses available to you...

I worked for a small family owned company before coming to werner.. and the small company did not have the resourses to offer me the 24/7 support that werner does..

You may be able to fool otbers here who dont work for werner and dont know the resourses available to you, but yoj can not fool me....

Wwhen the starter went out in my truck and it was closing time at the recievers and they were locking the gates... my truck had to stay but I had to leave.. werner got and paid for up front no money out of my pocket a cab to pick me up and take me to a hotel for tne night, as well as a cab to take me to my truck the next morning when the tow truck arrived, I stayed in the hotel two nignts.. but werner took care of the bill with no money out of my pocket, tney paid for the cab, I did tip the driver with my own money...

Did you send the macro for a hotel room... if you did and it was denied what was the reason they stated?

Also, just like this website and forum, the werner driver portal has a search.. all you had to do is type DEF in the class search and all videos and classes pertaining to DEF would come up.. so in the future if you need to put chains on but were never taught just go tnere and type in chains... and all the classes and videos about chaining are listed...

Werner is a training compnay and has plenty of resources for new drivers... if you cant handle it with all the resourses and training wheels werner provides then you will be in way over your head at other companies that dont have them....

Sorry but you are wrong. Diesel in the DEF tank will not damage the engine. DEF in the diesel tank is another story.

I don't want to veer off topic much, but, I said it in a other post, I will say it again: there is no consistency. An example comes to mind when I was completing training and before I got assigned a truck in Phoenix I was asked if I had completed a pre-trip class. I said I had. Then they asked if I had a card that certifies it. No such thing is given at orientations in Lakeland, FL, where I had my orientation.

Not trying to fool anyone. And I talk, do not spit.

This is what crossed my mind - close to 10 000 truck company, possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars repairs per day. I am sure they budgeted for it. But... time will tell.

And some middle manager type in breakdown probably spits out a list of the top screw ups repair wise by drivers for the week/ month. And he/she has nothing better to do than throw you under the bus.....

And that engine is fine...... It's the aftertreatment system that's screwed up....... If you do take out an engine your in the 20- 30k club....

Don't take this wrong but do you know how to check/ add oil and coolent ?
