    #### I'm glad you don't drive a truck for me...whatever happened to people being able to figure out the right way to do things instead of making lame excuses.

Tbat js what js so annoying to me... werner does train and teach... they go overboard... that is why I say it is a good company for roomies... it is Truck Driving with Training wheels...

This winter and more so from January to March everyday on the qualcomm there were messages about fuel additives for the diesel tanks and TCUs, and information about DEF, there were posters and stuff all over the terminals.

I just got a call from the night dispatcher that my TCU had alarms going off... now, I dropped my trailer at the shippers and am bobtail down the road at their waiting area doi g my 10 hour reset and will pick up my loaded trailer in the morning... but, they called.. because sad to say, there probably are drjvers who wojld just let the alarms go off and not take action to insure the load is not ruined... they can check and make sure I have the reefer temp set right...

They go over and over things... when ne was assigned the truck he was told to go look over the truck, then get with a shop guy if he had any questions....

And the story continues... I haven't been this interested in a thread since that girl who worked for Navajo got kicked off a truck in the Northwest.

After two weeks I'd be looking at the transport section in the San Antonio Craigslist lol... Especially if I broke some equipment. Get a new job lined up before I needed a reference! ;)

There have been valid points made on both sides. I started out with JB, and if werner is anything like them, they micromanaged you to death. Some of the qualcomm messages, I just laughed and thought.. That's really something you felt you had to send a message for? So 883 has some good points.

The one thing I agreed strongly with Dino was, respect is earned, not demanded...

As for me supporting tonakas, it's been in the fact that it does no good to tell him multiple times how he messed up. If he hasn't gotten it by now, I'd be willing to bet that, if they keep him on, there will be paperwork and a formal butt chewing in the future.

It's been brought up a few times, what if it was your truck. Much would depend on, like 883 pointed out, what kind of hand he'd been for me. If I decided to keep him because he had been a good employee, I would probably have him sign a financial agreement to repay a portion, probably half, of the repair bill, taken out of his check each pay period. I believe this would really instill a sense of responsibility in the driver to take care of his equipment, plus let him know he's not alone in it.

Let's face it. Many people are not wired right to be truck drivers. It doesn't require a college education or being able to speak 5 languages. What it does require is a sense of responsibility, and a A LOT of common sense. Many book smart people don't have the common sense God gave an ashtray. And sadly, common sense isn't something that's teachable imo. You either see the big nozzle and the little hole and think, well this is going to be a pain in the butt. Or.. That's not right, there must be a different pump somewhere.

lol, you're funny.Male or female doesn't matter.Ive been talking to Tonka for as long as hes been with Werner,I know his personality. He does care what happens he's just not the confrontational type.Just because he had a misfortune doesn't mean he has to get all bent out of shape about it.The damage is done now its time for him to move forward and hoping he still has a job.If he talks to safety with respect like he has thruout this thread Werner just may give him another chance.

    tonakis Thanks this.
