The number 1 post of the thread! Thanks! Both sides represented, objective thinking, love it.
Everybody would agree here - you can't teach common sense.

This is the bill. The more mechanically inclined feel free to discuss it. We might all just learn something.

Probably cheaper to replace the DEF tank than to bill out the labor it would've taken to clean the old one out and ensure that absolutely no residue from the diesel was left over. Nothing out of the ordinary, although I am a little amused about the 20 cents for a single cable tie. But I've only worked at company shops, where items like those are considered expendables.

That's what i thought, but why would they do it if they can suck up some more cashews this way. "Stealership" someone said earlier.

Well, a third party shop servicing third party vehicles and a company shop servicing company equipment are going to have their variances. Plus I was talking about the small cable ties we keep handy... if we have to go to KW, Volvo, etc. to get the large ones used by the manufacturers for wiring harnesses, air lines, etc., we end up billing those out to the truck, as well.

I am surpised it generated such interest, over 9k views. But I mean, the reason is we dissected everything there is from start to finish today. We managed to keep it civilized and many people got something out of it. Thanks to everybody that contributed, by the way.

There is one more thing left to be seen. We all know what it is.
