Just wondering the differences between neon green diesel, yellow diesel and white diesel fuel?

Also is there any difference between Loves, Pilot, Citgo, Petro, Road Ranger diesel fuels? is one better than the other ?

Apparently it's just a dye so I guess there is no difference in color but what about millage and performance between the two fuels?

Diesel is colored by federal order. Non-taxed (OffHighway) is dyed red, high sulphur diesel is dyed blue. "Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel" is clear but depending on the refining process and type of crude used may appear light brown, green or orange.

    Never seen white.

    Best regards

Federally the fine is per gallon tank capacity, regardless of how much is in the tanks (The IRS are the enforcers). Not certain what the federal fine per gallon tank capacity is today, but 15 years ago it was $5.00 per gallon tank capacity.

States also enforce. Most states have a first offence fine of $1000.00 or more, second offences range $5000.00 and up.

    Best regards.

definetly state enforce this, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas are big time enforcers of this. I used to regularly see fuel check points in Nebraks and Kansas, where all they would do is set up in the portable locations, check the fuel in your tanks, and send you down the road. If your using the wrong fuel, well, then they tell you to park it while they write out the citations.

Something to be careful of with this, some people will put off-highway diesel in their reefer tanks and think they are okay. Not so, one of our competitors uses off-highway diesel for the reefer sea-cans. One of their guys got stopped and the checked his tanks and the reefer tank and nailed the company for it.

The only white diesel I've ever seen was a form of kerosene
