    Is it just a trim level? Or cab size?

    Apparently it's a set back axle and/or lack of dog house.

    I always thought the hood was a little shorter on the 9200s and they also had tendency of having the smaller engines.

    Looking at used parts, it appears you're right. 9200 have 54" hood, 9400 have 65" hood

    Front Axle is set back closer to the driver. Will have a little tighter turning radius. Those older Internationals aren't much for turning radius.

    Yep, the hood is shorter allowing better vision. The engines are smaller. And the front axle is set back a bit. But turning radius depends on the length of the wheelbase. My 9200 is long. And takes 40 acres to turn it. Not sure what it's measurement is. But there is easily 5 feet from the back of the sleeper (the big sleeper 62" I think) to the front of my trailer. That's with non-sliding fifth wheel set 8" back. I'm guessing this truck was used for pulling a flatbed.

    [h=2]diff between 9200i and 9400i??[/h]
    i am thinking the difference is in the length of the sloped noses which is not much of a hood to begin with so why it is of concern is as perplexing as why international,the 13 letter sheeeeet spreader truck builder,would build them in the first place and then pretend to differentiate them as if they are something special.

    As stated above, the 9200i has the front axle set back a few inches farther, the hood is shorter, you can get any engine in a 9200 that you can in a 9400. Another difference is more of the engine is inside the cab and harder to get to. With the engine also set back there is some less floor board room, the truck is louder inside, and the ride is some harsher since you are sitting more on top of the steering axle. The 9200i will turn shorter if the measurement from rear of cab to center of rear axles are the same on both trucks.

    even though a 9200 could have a big cat under that tiny slope-
