I'm trying to figure out the difference between a 11R 22.5 steer rim and a drive rim.I think it has to do with the weight the rim can handle but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only difference that I am aware of is the drive rim is polished on the inside and the steer rim is polished on the outside . Never heard of it any different on weights it can handle .
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
I think they are pretty much the same, just polished on the outside. The weight supported would be depending on the tire not so much the rim.

The rims are the same no matter if they are facing out or in.

The biggest difference in wheels is some may be hub centric and the other will be centered by the wheel lugs. My steers are hub centric. Made a mistake and bought a brand new Alcoa steer and it wouldn't fit.

Also depends on the tire size on the steer. I run 315/85 22.5 on the steer. They are a 9" wide rim. The standard rim for most drives on a 8" rim..
