...and no, not those drugs. I take something for type II diabetes... lowest dose whatever...
Is there any type of form letter that's used to state what drug and that there are no effects on driving? It's not on the prohibited list.
If anyone has a copy of a letter, I'd appreciate it if you could give me an idea what it says... i need to write one up for the nurse practitioner at the VA Ladies Clinic... guess they don't get that request very often there...
Scheduled for my physical Monday.... crossing my fingers all goes smoothly.
Thanks
Mary

If it's not on the list you don't have to worry about it ,but anything that's say it's dosage or useage stating no side effects sign by your doc will do.

The letter I had just said that the medication I was taking would have no adverse effects on my ability to operate a commercial vehicle.
With that said, the company you are going to my have their own view. I had to sign a form saying I wouldn't take the meds within 10 hours of driving. -
The regulations are in the FMSCA and yours are ok if prescribed by a doctor. The reference is §40.85, for testing and §382.213 for use. Dot does not need a letter if your company follows what is written. However, their insurance company or even the company itself may make the rules more stringent. Your diabetes is ok as long as you do not need insulin for control §391.41 (3).

You do not have to wait because the up to date rules and regulations are on-line too. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/
