Just bought a truck and On the back rear axle they have 295/75r22.5 and the front rear axle is 275/80r22.5. The rear axle seems like the tires are quite a bit wider. Should I be real concerned about this ?

No, they are interchangeable.
Michelin primarily uses the 275 size, but almost everyone else uses the 295 size.
The 295's will be a little wider, but the Overall Diameter is indistinguishable and has almost no effect on wear. Just keep them inflated!Rideandrepair, Brandon0928 and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
They are the same, although if they couldn’t put a match set of drives on the truck I’d love to know what other corners they hacked as well….

Thanks for the reply ! Is there a reasoning behind that ? Seems a little silly why everyone else would use 295s!

I will let you know the more things that find along the way! LOL Hopefully it’s minimal!Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I'm sure there are many reasons that I don't know, but I think it comes down to the Manufacturers determining which size performed better for them in their testing and development. Continental and BF Goodrich (BFG is Michelin Owned) used to be 100% on the 275/80 size, but have both moved to 295/75 and I've seen some Michelin 295/75 I believe.Rideandrepair and Brandon0928 Thank this.

It’s called a plus size fitment. You get a wider tread at the same diameter. Bigger footprint with the same height.

The bigger footprint comes in handy up here in Canada where many places determine spring weight restrictions by the mm width of the tire ..
