Your direct deposit statement will say something like:

I authorize my company to send credit entries ( and appropriate debit and adjustment entries) to my bank.

If you do not want them to be able to take money out of your account then use white -out on the words " and appropriate debit and adjustment entries". You will probably get a duplicate but snap a picture of the original and this will protect you from them raiding your bank account.

If they ask you why, just tell them it bothers your conscience and makes you uncomfortable.

i have never had any deductions for any over payments. if i were to have signed such paperwork at hiring time, then it'd be my fault. i NEVER sign any such forms, allowing withdrawals.

they can either subtract that money from my next deposit, or can contact me for repayment. but as i recall, in the past, they simply subtracted any over payments, on the next check (deposit).

why should i pay for thier mistakes, or allow them free range into my accounts?

maybe the next time, the yahoo in payroll would DO A BETTER JOB..????

Same here. I wouldn't have done it as an employee and I'm surely not going to agree to it as a Carrier.

They have to request the entire amount of their deposit in a reversal. If funds are not available to get the entire amount the request is rejected and you are not subject to any overdraft fees. National Automated Clearing House Association Laws give them 5 days to attempt a reversal and they have to notify you before the debit hits your account.

My wife is banker and she has never heard of anything so ludicrous required from employer. Maybe in your country or in North Korea

I regularly see contracts that have similar verbiage. TQL comes immediately to mind. It states that they can deposit AND withdraw funds to/from your account. You have to agree to it to use the service.

Maybe different in Canada, I've done many direct deposits with employers, and they all say the same
