Direct train from LA to NYC to 'open next year'

Vaporware. Passenger train on freight rails means a 6 - 7 day journey at least. Apply for study grants from the government, the top officers make bank, and the project disappear.

 

Or if Amtrak owns the track themselves.

 

$320 will get you there nyc to lax in 5.5 hours.

I don’t think any reasonable person would stand in line waiting on a slow train , lol

 

Maybe faster than a wagon train…….

 

But you dont hear about people going Wacka-Wacka on trains like they do planes.

 

That’s because they might too busy beating each other’s brains out at 33,000 feet to notice!
(At least if they’re flying on Spirit or Frontier)
