Yes you can, same provider for both. Can also use your reward card, to get access to their wifi. Be warned tho, their wifi is crappy. I've tried it several times and it's mostly sucked.

Agreed. Whenever I get to a Pilot/Flying J, I connect and if the connection is crappy I call the wandering wifi number and complain. Sometimes they can reset the equipment and make it better but other times they can't. They then give me some credit on my acct.

Don't think you can do this with a Directv dvr, but you can with a stand alone dvr system. I have seen some with removable hard drives.

i think just about all receivers have usb ports now. where you can plug a external hard drive into them.

i know my dtv and tivo have that capability. but i've had the receivers 2 years now. the tivo is 4 years old.

We have a USB plug on our unit. Supposedly it's to extend the storage capacity if you plug in an external hard drive. I can't tell you how it does it. Haven't had the chance to try it.

You would need a SATA connection to use an external drive.

USB is either disabled or used for troubleshooting.

sata is pretty much the standard connection these days. or sata2.

the old ide connection is virtually extinct.

When was the last time you used an external drive. USB is the standard. Soon to be USB 3.0.
