Having a GPS makes you smart? Hmmm.... The last study I read said that GPS's contribute to the dumbing down of America.

GPS's in trucks are dangerous if the operator of that truck takes the GPS's word as gold & doesn't look at a map to actually plan their trip.

Online places..... Well other then looking at the actual map book, which still is a good way to route yourself. You can go to truckmiles.com

I guess I am old school I can still read a map and if I have never been to a location I call ahead of time and get directions. Don't have a GPS and I don't ask someone on the CB.

 

I have a GPS... But only use it as a reference. I love the spedometer on it..... My truck spedo isn't accurate. I mostly use my Rand Mcnally atlas. I have also named my GPS. It is now called shud up stooopid.

 

Does your GPS have a sexy female voice or the annoying librarian voice?

 

I choose the sexy female voice with an English accent.... Accents do strange things to me.

 

I have two GPS's and don't trust either but, I do use them. Along with my Map, company directions and phone a friend...LOL

I have a friend who has 2 GPS's in his truck. Last year or the year before he got lost in China town in NYC... Both GPS's were telling him to turn on different streets....

He & I loaded together out on Long Island. All I could say was I'm glad I decided not to follow you!
