Taking a 49,000 lb die set on an exit where I will get stuck?
Give me a break.
You see it wasn't a busy interstate, it was where you have five or six trucks running in little groups and no other traffic around. They didn't move over, and I've seen trucks with flats on the side of the road with no one moving over.
And to tell you something else, a lot of these die sets are full of oil with a machined bottom, they will slide on cement if there is a film of oil suspending the die of the floor is sealed. If it is on sticks they will move all over the place. it isn't like putting something on a deck like a pallet or machinery and it will stay there, these things will slide off the deck if it isn't chained down with stops and checked during the trip.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
The OP was in essence questioning why no one would stop to help. I'm just stating one of the many reasons why most people wont stop. Its not always that other drivers are discourteous these days....... its that people in general are crazy. You just cant trust anyone these days.x1Heavy Thanks this. -

Stopping on the shoulder of an interstate isn't the place to check your equipment! Its a moronic move.
Anywhere else , like I said rest area , get on ramp anywhere but the frigin shoulder of the interstate.
Doesn't matter what you have on the deck , that's not even a lame excuse at best lol. -
Ruthless Thanks this.

I sat back, and I realized that a lot of you have never done anything in life. First responders, medical personnel, rescue, firefighters, lawmen and military have been trained. So, I see that I can’t really call you guys out on what you’ve never dealt with before. In an emergency, some of us know instantly what to do. Some done. It’s unfair for me to label someone a coward who never dealt with emergency situations. So I do apologize.
Mudguppy, Opendeck, Ruthless and 1 other person Thank this. -
Smoke, fire extinguisher, horse trailer.......I’m stopping
That can turn into a real danger to other people passing by real quick
Even my brain can process that info quick.x1Heavy and Elroythekid Thank this. -
This is interesting I would of never thought washer fluid would be flammable.
Never once have I read the label except to see if it was winter blend or not.Last edited: May 21, 2018
