Maybe some, but I doubt the poster I was writing to. I also question their true safety matter since they run that way. I was offered harvest hauling several times. They told me how they want it ran. They preferred to not consider legal running. My CDL and life are more important than a few bucks.
As far as reckless, it is a moot matter. How many want to get caught that way with the rules actually becoming more enforced under the CSA2010?

Hi, my brother just got out truck driving school here in town,last year,i cringe everytime he call's me or worst it be the hyway patrol telling me they found his truck in the dicth or a very bad wreck and has been killed, why he got a local job hauling corn for the elevater , hauls corn outa the feild too town , with weights way over the top, and beyound, hes got a heavy foot , so he likes too go fast, he runs over 100 hours a week , when going in full harvest, i tell him your hurting the truck driving image as we no it and he just laugh at me and says whatever but im getting more hours then you and we get it into it and me, i threaten him,then, i tell him i call the portables out and see were your paycheck goes then,and they take your truck and lock you up and throw away the key's, i seen his load's and i know it was a good 90 ,cause as turn the corner the payment cracked under tires on curb side so it was super heavy not good,makes me mad i got him into this too get his lic and setup for school only too abuse it this way, guess he didnt learn anything in school , except too wear a ball cap and hold the steering wheel.

This while teaming at crst, i was loading our trl at shipper of carpet roll's, told my team member (to save names here) i was gonna go eat all loaded and stuff , legal, i knew how many roll's too put in there, still at dock, meanwhile unkown too me , they ask my team member too load 4 more on tail cause i had all that room , well 127 miles latter , going north i hit the coops in ky, pull around back bring in papers yada, yada full blown inspection, i just said what the h********** i knew my weight was right or so i thought, went in over on tadems, i was a just bit red face mad now , i was so mad i broke my hand punching that glass out right door then i grab him threw him out of my truck , now i had too wait for glass truck and anthor truck and i was out $456 dollers fine,outa my pocket ,not company, he told me i cant leave him there, i just said just wacth me as i already called my dispacth he said go for it, he got ride back with other truck,not a good day for me
never did teaming again.

You all need to look up the laws for ag products before spouting off. In Iowa the govenor signs off every fall that you can legally haul unprocessed ag products at 88,000 with a tandem truck and trailer. Just passed that we can run 96,000 year round with triples and a cheater processed and unprocessed. Yes sometimes we come in over weight. We can't check our guages setting on a shippers concrete lot. We're in a soft uneven field loading out of a ten inch auger or on the side off a gravel road on a hill. Can't just back up to the dock a take a little off. There are idiots in all industry that aren't safe that's how the world has always been and don't look for it to change. Just had a drunk pull out in front of me Friday night in a 55 mile zone. I was loaded at 80,000 and he ran 25 weaving all the way into town. Phone was dead or would have called it in. It's life learn to deal with it.

Everett is from Des Moines, Iowa and said is brother is running local. And Yes Illinois does have exemptions for hauling grain. Weight doesn't happen to be one of them.

I guess everyone on here complaining about others hauling illegal weights, they never break any rules, they never speed, never fudge on their logs. And before you start saying I'm wrong. I watch all of the 62-66mph governed trucks run through 60mph zones at their governed speeds and never check up. Also, how many always come to a complete stop at a stop sign or before pulling out of a driveway? Quit whining, your just jealous, because he is getting away with it.

Roadmedic my fine would have been around 6K which my Boss would have Paid had I gotten Caught. Losses for Repairs to the Combines and then to the Beans would have been 50K which was cheaper to HIM. An Overweight Ticket or losing 2 weeks of Harvest time in the middle of a Bumper Crop.

Rules are often arbitrary and/or unrealistic, and frankly have little to do with safety. (And please, use your brain! You know what I mean, don't take that as a blanket statement. And scream about we need this rule or that rule...)
Following the logic of some here; an 84,000# legal load in CO becomes an unsafe menace the instant it crosses into another state!
It's the fallacy of the 'Compliance' enforcement model: Good safety record/poor record-keeping is worse than average safety record/ excellent record-keeping. There is something very wrong when an incomplete file generates more regulatory wrath than the trail of minor mishaps that follow the mega-fleets around. But paper's a lot easier for a desk jockey to deal with...
CSA2010 has the same problems. No-ticket Noob, whose critical event skill-set consists of wadding his/her panties and whimpering for momma; will be a safer driver than some million-plus miler with a couple of logbook/weight tickets. Nevermind that Million Mike probably saw the same event unfolding and had reacted before Noob even realized he was fixin' to be on the wrong side of a poop/blade interface. Or that Mike has the ability to do more than just throw out the anchor and hope for the best if he does end up in the midst of a ####storm.
