Hi, I am thinking of providing independent dispatch services for O/O's, but am not sure of the best way to collect payments for my services. Are there any options beside getting O/O's credit or debit card info?
    I would appreciate any answer.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Why would anyone want to hire you? What do you have to offer?

If you are not a broker or freight forwarder, I don't see that you have anything to offer us.

Very few are going to give you debit card information....if a truck has to wait 30-45 days for the money to show up then so does the person who "booked or dispatched" the freight. And before the word factor gets mentioned, keep in mind there are typically too many hands in the rate before the trucker gets paid anyway. Assuming you find a few truckers who wish to use your services you would probably have to send a detailed invoice every 30 days to a customer and get paid that way. Best of luck in your quest.

I read something about this the other day. It was how to double broker a load off of another broker. Just tell the broker your talking to that you are the dispatch for the carrier and take your cut out of the deal.

The service itself is straightforward, find best available loads for driver and take care of all his/her paperwork including billing the broker and or submitting invoices on behalf of driver to their factoring company. Then take percentage of load $ amount for my services. NO double brokering, just honest hard work.

One issue i ran into is that load boards require MC# to be able to sing up and view loads. Would anyone consider sharing information so i can look at what loads are available in my area. I will cover your monthly load board costs. Thank you in advance! my email: bomail1212@gmail.com

I am an agent. I have seen a few dispatch services charging a subscription fee. I've noticed $200-400/week/truck. This covers finding loads and negotiating rates. Also includes updating insurance and carrier setup with brokers/shippers.

I never found a use for "dispatch service".

What you are hoping for is to not be a broker or a carrier. Just collect money. I can't blame you.

Here is the deal tho. Owner operators that have their own authority probably have their own loads already.

Why pay you to go on load boards and book me loads and take a cut? If it's $500 a week that's typically a percentage I could pay a company to run over head for me and give me loads.

If I have 10 trucks and plan on using loadboards I can afford a $1,400 a week for a experienced dispatcher to handle it, all in house. Typically these guys don't even need a load board.

    PSUMoose Thanks this.
