Boss once told me I had to pickup a load at the place I hated the most so I drive on up to Sparta Tn. check in get loaded and leave. About 45 min later boss calls and ask me when I am going to get there. I laugh at him tell I am already loaded and on my way back. He calls back 10 min later and says shipper says load is still on warehouse floor. I tell him I got 22 pallets on heading home then I finally ask him where this freight is waiting on me. He says at Loudon Tn. I said yep it probably is still there cuz I loaded in Sparta Tn. They ended up having to broker that load but lol I got mine. What are the odds two loads 2 different cities going to the same place Lol

I was in Salt Lake City a number of years back and was waiting on a load at the Swift Terminal. I got a message on my qualcom saying "head to Delta for a load". Ok. Got out my mapbook and looked it up. It looked like it was out in the middle of nowhere, Utah but since I was on a flatbed I've picked up in the middle of nowhere so I head out. Get all the way to Delta and call my boss.
    He says "where are you?
I said "in Delta where you sent me, where's the load info?"
    "Delta, CO?"
"No, Delta, UT. If you wanted me in CO you should have said that!"
We both got a laugh out of it and I headed to Colorado to get the load.

Communication is the key isn't it snowman.
Lol. How could I hate Loudon I had never been there before so that's why I went to Sparta. But like yours all worked out in the end and everyone had a good chuckle and a new trucker story.

Sometimes a good chuckle between folks is a good remedy for a bad situation.

Very true. The relationship between me and my current DM is more then a friendship then anything. She will call me and say im fired, in return ill call her randomly faking breakdowns or tell her I quit and so on... at the end of the day, we know we can count on each other to get our jobs done. I deliver on time, she gets me miles. Ill show up and night dispatch let's me in and ill cover her computer screen in post it notes, move things around on her desk and so on.

Now..... other dispatchers.... yeah... so many uptight ppl in this world. Once you get that good DM, hang on to them at all costs.

I had a load of cable out of Woodland Ca going to Pittsburgh Pa. Got to Chicago and got a msg to take load to Woodland Ca so when I got through the mess I stopped and called in to get clarification. The Dp'r said what is the dest on the bills? I said Pittsburgh, he then said like he was annoyed by my call, well then driver thats where you take it. So as I am getting close to the last serv plaza in Ohio my qualcomm blows up, why are you not heading west with that load? So again I call in and explain prev call and they say head back to Woodland the cust canceled del for some reason. So I head back and drop load at shpr and collect a nice fat check for the week.:biggrin_255:

About 3 years ago. Came off home time, deadhead to Plymouth, IN and pickup a load of foam (4000 lbs) going to Budah, TX. I get there and the receiver refuses the load. They said it is their first purchase from this company, and the quality is not up to there standards. I call dispatch and they say wait there. 2 hours later I get a message to take it back to Plymouth! No problem, send me a load assignment, which they did. 2 weeks later, again coming off home time, I get the same load assignment. Huh, must have worked out the quality issues. NOPE! Refused again. Back to Plymouth. Easy money.
