Some government minds we're trying to figure out a way to create jobs......

"You know what we could do, we could change the hos regulations in trucking, make new rules that cut productivity....this would mean trucking companies would have to hire more drivers and buy more trucks....we say that in the interest of safety we're overhauling the regulations...."

"That's freaking brilliant, we'll create jobs"

"And if we do it right we'll be able to generate fines as well"

"Yeah, but we'll need some way to do it without question"

    "Well, we'll fund some "studies"...."

    "I like it!!!!"

"Yeah!!! Think of all those jobs just waiting to be created....research jobs, state DOT enforcement jobs, new truck manufacturing jobs, driving school jobs..."

"All we have to do is cite public safety as being our only concern"

    "Yeah, safety....."

"And anybody who questions us we'll lable as being against "safety"

"Absolutely brilliant, let's give ourselves a raise"

    "Yes, lets"

"We're here from the government and were here to help"

    "Sounds good to me....."

Driving tired and sitting there tired are 2 entirely different things. This video is to promote safety for everyone and what happens in this industry behind closed doors and far too often.

Knowingly driving a commercial vehicle while you are tired is a serious violation of the fmcsa rules.

Also remember, the interpretation of tired is to the inspector or officer as well.

Do you see nothing wrong with them sending a police officer out to wake the driver up just to be a pest?

Setting up a company to make a YouTube "safety" video is very childish.

That would depend on the definition of tired, heck I'm "tired" about 3 hours into a trip, do I stop driving for a 10 hour break? No. the OP should learn how to break the boredom, I bet resting his eyes for 30 minutes and a few laps around the truck stop and he would have been fine.

I guess you have a hard time reading.

Note tired is a matter of opinion. Not just you the driver.

Best idea I've heard all day. They can't fire who doesn't work there....make em' sorry as hell they ever bullied a driver. I'd say wait, and if we find out they fired this guy, let em' have it.....

I don't believe anyone was "set up". It just happened. And no, doing a YouTube video is not childish. It is a modern tool for the general public to study trucking. Its pretty serious and not childish...
