KB the company I drove for.I never had issues like this driver did but I wasn't otr either. But with other companies dispatchers tried that with me.You're going to find dispatchers like this with every single company, there's no getting around it.You're talking to a wall if you think dispatchers are going to feel your pain and let you park it.So you just tell them like it is and hang up and take your 10.If you get fired,so what sue them for wrongful termination and collect unemployment benefits. No company is worth driving for if they can't meet you half way.Brock who is the son of the owner of k&b won't feel your pain either.I didn't watch the entire video I hope this guy took his 10.Companies make every load out to be a hot load, gotta get it there, blah blah blah when really it can wait till the next day.

The worst part was calling the cops to wake him up. They told him someone was coming to swap loads with him and to take a 2 hour nap. Then they called the cops on him to wake him up. That's low. I would probably take a 34 after that. Screw the load.

I'd be curious if his cell showed any miss calls. He obviously had service there so the phone not getting them wouldn't be an issue.

kb did that???????????????????? I knew they were an agressive company but calling the cops, thats an all time low.I met a guy at the bus station who quit kb and on his way back to TX to work for his uncle.Anyway he quit because he got tired of getting woke up from other drivers. After many attempts calling that driver kb resorts to other drivers in the area to wake that driver up.

Lots of blame to go around here. On the company side is pretty obvious. Walking around the truck, coffee, jumping jacks are not a substitute for sleep. K & B needs to review the FMSCA regs that state the drivers has the final say in moving the truck They also need to plan better and give the driver's more notice on loads that will require an extended or doubled up 10 hour break. Had the driver been told of the load before starting the first 10 hr break he could have done things differently so as to allow himself to get sleep later in the day. By waiting the company took options away from the driver. Also holy wasted time batman! There had to be better driver utilization, I know freight is soft this time of year, but come on.

Now I do not feel sorry for the driver being service failed. The driver should have told dispatch "I will not be rested enough to take this load" as soon as he did the trip plan and saw the situation. I do not know the particulars on the load, but as the last dispatcher said "you either commit or don't, trying means nothing". When I get a load I TELL my company when my SAFE AND LEGAL eta is. If they don't like it they can reschedule, repower, or return the load to the anal orifice of the planner - I don't care which. But I will do everything within my power to beat my ETA, and do everything reasonable to exceed my customers expectations. I wish Abe had recorded his conversations with dispatch earlier in the day.

As a side thought, he took a 20 min break earlier in the trip, spent 20 min arguing with disptach, and still had time to swap loads with another driver who appeared able to make on time delivery. Why not use that 30-45 min to take a nap?

Wow...I guess some things never change......This was the kind of treatment found in 1989.......back then it was."Pop a few pills and get down the road" ..Which we did to satisfy the customer,

I cant believe after so much emphasis that is put on safety today and HOS.....That this carrier would talk to this guy like that..SUCH UNPROFESSIONALISM..To say the least.

Im glad he video and audio this......He outta take this straight to the dept of transportation traffic division in the home state of this K&B trucking...

Should change their tune with an Audit and a hefty fine!

    #### like this angers me because we as drivers play by the rules..Accept all the responsibility..Yet law enforcement are too Loose cut to visit dispatchers and CEO's from these carriers.

Yeah, I can't imagine a drop empty and pick up loaded load was a last minute thing that they couldnt have dropped the trailer the day before.

That's exactly what I do at ProTrans in Indianapolis. Most of the time we are dispatched the day before. Easy enough to drop the trailer that night then bobtail to the Pilot or the J. That way if they don't have an empty to start loading in the AM, they'll have one.

I had a KB driver try to recruit me while I was fueling in Des Moines a few weeks back.
Dude was fueling beside me and suddenly launches into this recruiter routine.
Apparently as over bearing as KB itself

    :-/
