If ABC news, CBS news, CNN or some news outlet is alerted about this video it could be a story all over the nightly national news. I can see the news anchor saying "Now a very disturbing story about truck drivers being pushed to drive when they are tired and sleepy. Is that big truck behind you being driven by a sleepy driver being threatened to be fired if he doesn't drive while tired? Here is Mike with the story....

and could end up in new laws and rule where we can lose more driving time since they still don't understand how things work.

New law suits would be a very good thing. Drivers have been used and abused enough.
Good info, That just isn't right that dispatch has that much power over the driver, and especially to call the driver when they see the truck isn't moving.
Not sure i could handle that and i don't know that i would be able to keep a driving job in today's world and i dont think i would have been as calm as Abe if they kept calling me or waking me up --is this the norm now ?
I would like to think this isn't the norm. And if it is, I'm happy to be with an un-normal company. I get my load info and directions, then don't hear from them again till I'm at the receiver, usually 2000+ miles away. The one time I had weather issues this year, I was crawling across Wyoming, and got a message saying they had rescheduled the appt for the next day due to weather. Love this place.

And more on the subject, just a few days ago, they sent me a 2600 mile run. After looking at my hours, I told them I couldn't make it on time because I'm working my 70. They cancelled the load, and a couple hours later, I got the 2900 mile run I'm on now, with more time on it. Just have to let them know up front from the start.

If it was recorded across state lines, the federal rule applies. And the federal rule is one-party consent.

    Federal law trumps state law.
