Disqualified for not divulging latest medical history

There is NO DRUG TESTING with a DOT Physical. Just testing for sugar and proteins. Where do people get this bad information?

 

The DOT medical is issued within an hour, maybe 30 minutes of the driver giving his info at the office. There is no search of your medical history or time to run a spectrographic analysis of urine for prescription drugs, other than opioids, amphetamines, etc. There may not even be a drug screen performed. If you are diabetic they will spot the sugar in your urine, but not much more than that. They will see obvious major scars, like for a tracheotomy, a pacemaker or open-heart surgery. Who here reported their surgery to remove their appendix or put tubes in their ears in their childhood?

 

I had an appendectomy in 2000. I have listed it on every Long Form. Why lie about it?

 

I couldn't remember if they screen for recreational drugs or not. I don't use any drugs so it's not something I ever worry about, no matter which drug anyone tests for or why. I was trying to be on the safe side of the very basic urine analysis they do at the DOT medical exam. They dip a test trip in your pee and the analysis is over.

 

Drug testing is required to be done by the Trucking Company pre-hire.

 

Nobody suggested you lie. Doesn't an appendectomy leave a scar that would be visible, or do they do that going through your belly button or left ear? I'm not a doctor. I just play one in singles bars.

 

I have no scars. The question on the Long Form page 1 is: Have you EVER had surgery? Pretty easy question to understand and answer in my book.

 

And then your trainer will show you how to lie on your ELD before he goes to sleep and collects training pay.

 

Also, I have never been checked for scars during a DOT Physical. Never even been asked to take off my shirt, let alone disrobe. Lol
