No , its just when u deal with stupid ppl everyday u become somebody who dont take no ####. Especially pulling a deck. Lots of Ppl dont understand what could happen if u make a wrong judgment with securement or forget ur hauling something that could shift forward and decapitate u instantly if u put ur truck in a bad spot and have to get on the brakes. Its not a tough guy attitude its just the reality of flatbeddin, its a tough job but rewarding. But of course u get the guys thats been there, done it all and done it better than u, and if u aint doin it their way, then ur wrong. Them guys run rampant in the flatbed world and ive told more than 1 of them to go #### themselves.
Do all flatbed companies have a tough guy chip on their shoulders?

I guess I left myself open for it.rolls canardly, FerrissWheel and staceydude Thank this. -
And frankly one of the reasons I'm not actively looking to jump is exactly what you're talking about. I've already worked 2 (non flatbed) companies that have that "you'll never meet our standards but keep trying while we mess with your head" crap after I was hired. So I was thinking it's just part of the macho male culture thing that this industry hasn't left behind yet. Seems like a lot of guys thrive on that continuous proving of themselves to a boss figure.
Me. Ya not so much. Give me a job, leave me alone. Which is totally Western Express LoL. Unless you are running down baby carriages while you're lighting up your crack pipe, they don't have time for you.
Perfect!!!
I'm old. I'm slow. I don't lift tarps unless it's unavoidable. My dispatcher loves me anyway.
And the Western Express truck keeps other people away cuz they figure I'm completely useless or crazy.
More perfect!!brianv31, rolls canardly, lsnook24 and 2 others Thank this. -

Never noticed a chip on the shoulder among flatbedders, but livestock haulers are another story...
