Grocery warehouses are why I pull a flatbed.

I would rather tarp a load in blizzard than ever go back to another grocery warehouse and deal with shady lumpers while I watched the seasons pass waiting to be unloaded.

The hold up is the "receiver." This is the individual who checks for accuracy against the BOL and quality control. That's the hold up. They take a long time. And sometimes there may only be two or three on shift.

Correct. It usually takes the lumpers about a half hour to an hour to physically unload the truck. It's the pallet breakdown and waiting for the receiver to actually receive the product that takes forever.

For the first time last week I took a reefer load to Publix DCs. I had one stop in GA and 3 in FL.

1st stop (9 pallets). 10 hours to unload.
2nd stop (4 pallets. 7 hours to unload.
    3 r stop (4 pallets). 6 hours to unload.
    4th stop (2 pallets). 3 hours to unload .

    Never again.

That's both crazy and flat out ridiculous. By contrast, I took 5 pallets of empty cereal boxes to Kelloggs yesterday, and the guys unloaded me in about 10 minutes. Including security check in and out, I was on the property about a half hour.

    Lepton1 and Metallica88 Thank this.
