Now talk about the previous experiences that taught you those lessons.

I delivered to HEB last night and I was in and out in 3 hours and that seemed like a best case scenario

The Costco's with updated system can have you in and out in 45 minutes. Stop at guardshack and they come to your window and swap BOL's for a pager, get your door, open doors and back in, stay in truck which they get right in fast, pager goes off again and you go out guardshack where they hand you signed bills at your truck window, boom!

I think Costco has an agreement worked out with all their suppliers that basically says any/all OSDs discovered after delivery will be subtracted and kept and donated to whoever wants to come get it. Any overages may or may not be noted. That’s the only thing that makes sense to allow them to receive freight like the do at every dc.

Costco rarely has more than a few different items on a truck. They also have the pallets built to their ti/hi specs by the shipper. I did a load for Sysco about a year ago,and had three picks that was nearly 100 different products. The stack of bills was about two inches thick.

So is the americold in Los Angeles. They just completed a new one some time ago. I got dispatched there and they will not accept you unless you come in 15 mins before appointment no earlier. Got there got a door and waited 7 hours to be unloaded. Forced me out afterwards. At that point you should have let me stay 3 more hours to complete my darn reset.

We used to a lot of Costco store direct, wood stove pellets, bottled water, and once we delivered most of the kitchen stainless from a place in Kansas. Longest it ever took to unload was 5 hrs for a straight pull of bottled water. 40' container, 22 pallets, 11 per store, 2 stores. Store 1, arrived 15 minutes early, all docks were full. They still had me out in 90 minutes from arrival. Second store, arrived 20 minutes early, all docks were full, it was lunch time, 5 hrs to unload, why, because the produce truck had reefer issues in transit, so they had to hand check every item on it, as a result all other trucks had to cycle through the other dock. They never batted an eye when I told them detention was $100/hr.

I did enjoy doing the wood pellet loads to the store on Santa Fe and Hampden in Denver though, smoking hot red head, pale green eyes. She could treat you one of two ways (depending on how you wanted it) with a firery temper that would make you never want to return, or with a batting of her pale green eyes, and a twinkle on her freckled face, that would make you want to hand unload all 44,000 lbs of pellets and beg to do it again.
