I'm wondering how you are supposed to eat or use a computer inside your cab. Are seats/desks like these a standard feature?

I have a camping chair that fits between my bunk and drivers seat that I sit in. Have to slide drivers seat up but its better than sitting on your bunk the whole time.
-
Lol i cant even sit in my bunk. The gap betweem the bed and top bunk is about a foot too shortwulfman75, tscottme, 77fib77 and 1 other person Thank this.

Some do and most don't.
You sit on the bunk and use the pull-out desk while facing the windshield in most trucks I drove. -
always had the top bunk folded uptscottme Thanks this.

I stay out 6 to 12 weeks at a time so i use it for storage. Much cheaper to throw a ton of canned goods, fereeze dried or shelf stable/long lasting ingredients and packaged goods and such up there then trying to eat on the road. And since i spend most of my time in the boonys and when on the road usually on a tight time crunch i dont get by a walmart very often lol.Numb and Big Road Skateboard Thank this.

So it looks like the kind of truck I want to have is like this where I can use the top bunk for sleeping and then the bottom bunk converts to a table and chair. What should I ask for when searching for jobs? I definitely want this quality of life feature

I drove a '17 Volvo 670 ( i think) that had a fold up table/bunk. The idea was a good thought but execution was lacking. The cushions where severely lacking in term of being a good bed when in the "bed mode" and the top bunk was a little narrow. The truck it self was very comfortable to drive and rode like a Cadillac. I wound up giving up on the table and just put a nice memory foam mattress down and used the top bunk as storage. Maybe the bigger sleeper was better. Mack has a recliner bed I was curious about.tscottme Thanks this.

I had a 2025 t680 that had that. Cool invention but it was a bit of a pain to do it. Had to swivel it a bit then pull seat up, swivel more then put seat back and swivel all the way. If you store anything in the passanger seat, which most drivers do. Its more cumbersome than anything but its a cool feature that i enjoyed
