    Well not an O/O.

But I will tell you when time and load permit I drop down to 60 if my appt is unchangeable just to increase and pad my fuel mileage. Our raises are directly tied to the MPG of our trucks.
Our MPG leader in company says he regularly runs 57 on cruise to get his 8.3.

Alot of these guys, vet drivers, all of them complain they get tickets and blah blah. Well Im sure the guy going 65 has a higher chance of getting a ticket then the guy going 60. Most big companys trucks are set to 60-62, well honestly not much differnce from 55. So your saying 60 is obstruting traffic? come on get real with it. Trucks set at 60, they cant do nothing about it. Most officers, DOT wont mess with the guy going 60 MPH down the road , opposed to the guy going 67. Guys going that fast POSE a higher percentage of a accident then the guy going 60, Most dont want to accept the fact, but its true. Disagree with me or not. Look up statistics shown that most accidents were from big trucks going at 65+ MPH.

Look, if you or anyone else wants to drive 55 have at it. The problem is that most of the people who do it think for some reason that the middle lane belongs to them and the law in almost every state say slower trafiic keep right. You drive 55 fine but stay the hell outta the 2 left lanes.

    Tazz Thanks this.

I will drive 55 mph as much as possible if i can. I dont have any problems with cars or big rigs in regards to being hit from behind by a faster moving vehicle. I allways have the cb on 19 and will occasionaly tell a driver that i see coming up quicker that i am doing 55 and just cruising so do your thing to get around me. Was never abused and was never in a close situation. I even had some drivers thank me. I increased my mpg from 5.5 up to 6.8 by going 55 instead of 60, The truck was governed at 62 so i wasnt really going to see a whole lot of difference in my schedual. I was hauling produce with reefers out of cali and was not late for a delivery ever and didnt have to fudge my logs. I am no expert but i believe the general theory is that fuel economy decreases quicker above 60 mph so going 55 is going to be better for the mpg. Like pedigree bulldog said if you allready know the results then use your discretion and do what you like, if you need to fudge your log to get to your destination on time then start driving faster. I never had to fudge my log but i allways had enough time to make my run at a slower speed. there were times when i knew 55 wouldnt get me there on time so i drove 60. You wont get a ticket going faster than 55 but within the speed limit but you will get a ticket for log violations. Be carefull of pattern loggin if you run 55, starts to look a bit suspect if every sheet in the log looks the same!

If your really looking for fuel look for Henry Albert(kind of wierd with a penchant for ties) but he has been trying to get to 10mpg.

Also a thread on here about 10mpg but I'm not sold o. Microblue or whatever.

Profitability is going to be required. The old days of burning and earning are done. But like most endangered species people with this nature will turn rabid on the way out.

Yea, Time is a factor in it, just depends when , where, and how much time i have, If i get loaded early i tend to slow it down. What kind of rig you drive? Mine is a 2009 KW t 660

A professor of mine told me there are lies, there are #### lies, and then there are statistics. Just messing with you :biggrin_25519:.

Don't own my truck but I run 90km/h (55mp/h) max, it's company policy the most I've ever run is around 2500 miles but I only work 4 days a week, never had to fudge my logs, but I think I can drive more hours in a day here in Canada.

Very true, With the price of fuel Im susprised some still run hard as they can, I would rather buy my son diapers then put any more unneeded fuel in my tanks. I will try to look for this thread your talking about on here.
